Considerations for reopening
• Public Health Agency of Canada’s recommendations and guidelines to lift public health measures
• Consultation with sectors• Adherence to existing public health measures• Province’s COVID-19 epidemiology

• Consulting with businesses and organizations directed to close as part of pandemic response.
• Sharing public health principles and providing information to help organizations develop plans to safely reopen when public health deems it safe to do so
• Businesses and sectors asked to adapt public health guidelines for their own circumstance and develop plans for re-opening to public.

Staying informed, being prepared and following public health advice
Practising good hygiene (hand hygiene, avoid touching face, respiratory etiquette, disinfect frequently touchedsurfaces)
Ensuring physical distancing whenoutside of the home
Increasing environmental cleaning & ventilation of public spaces & worksites
Staying at home (not going to school/work) and away from others when symptomatic and following public health advice
Wearing medical mask if symptomatic and inclose contact with others or going out to access medical care. If not available, non-medical mask or face covering
Considering use of non-medical mask or face covering in situations where physicaldistance cannot be maintained
Limit non-essential travel

Return to Play – Rebound plan
• PSO is working with membership to develop their rebound plan• In alignment with Public Health • In alignment with Hockey Canada
• Customized for Nova Scotia • PSO can submit plan to Sport Nova Scotia for Review
• Sport Nova Scotia will review using a general framework approved by Public Health
• PSO tweak plans based on feedback and share with membership

Summary PointsReturn to Activity needs to take place with the following:
• Public health guidelines are to be followed – hygiene, physical distancing etc.
• Sport (as with all organizations) is strongly recommended to have a return to play plan in place prior to any activity
• As of May 29th organized sport activity may resume• Current maximum # of participants in a program is 10 per playing
surface (Ice rink, soccer field, tennis court)• Individual facility protocols and guidelines must be followed in addition
to the public health guidelines • Any changes to the guidelines in future months and weeks will be led

Rebound Plan –Focus Areas
1. Implementation Plan – working group
Mandate: The purpose of the implementation plan is to provide a format and critical path in which to define the actions required to align with Hockey Canada’s Return to Hockey Safety Guidelines and adhere to the Nova Scotia Provincial Government Coronavirus Sport Guidelines. To include but not limited to the regulatory requirements, modified officials’ certification process, coach training, and hockey structure.
a) Task Team: Facilities Inventory and Guidelines
2. HNS Regulatory Review – working group
Mandate: Review existing HNS regulations and their impact on how and when we return to hockey. Make recommendations with regards to transition regulations that may be required for the return to hockey.
3. Hockey Structure – working group
Mandate: To investigate all options possible for the structure/framework of the 2020-2021 hockey season in Nova Scotia.
