Northern Vietnam National Roads Traffic Safety Improvement Project - Under JICA Loan Agreement No. VN XIV-7. Year: January 2011 to June 2012. Location: Ha Noi city.

Company: Oriental Consultants Co., Ltd (Japan). Client: PMU of Transport Safety. Main Project Features:

NTSIP is a project implemented by JICA loan. The project is carried out by the Joint Venture of Oriental Consultants Co., Ltd (Japan) and Consia Consultants (Denmark). NTSIP's object is improvement of traffic safety on 4 (four) national roads in Northern Vietnam, reducing the number of black spots, increasing the behavior of road users. Researched area of project is on 4 national roads, including national roads number 3, 5, 10 and 18 which pass through 10 provinces of Viet Nam: Ha Noi, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hung Yen. The project has 4 components, including Awareness Enhancement, Education, Enforcement and Engineering. The Engineering component is assigned to implementing the improvement and upgrading works on the national roads. The project is in the step of detail design and shop drawings.

Position Held: Road Engineer in Engineering component. Activities Performed:

- To design alignment road and other items on road: intersection, busbay, drainage system, culvert. - To summarize quantities. - To check the shop drawings. - To partipate in management the quantities, quanlity and progress of the construction step. - To handle over the data and support the local community in the land acquisition work.

The Hang river improvement and promoting effect project Year: 2010 Location: Son Tay town, Ha Noi city. Client: PMU of Son Tay town. Main Project Features:

Son Tay town is the center of economy, culture, politic and social of western-north area in Ha Noi city. Hang river is the main river in the network of rivers in Son Tay town. The goal of the project is improvement the capacity of irrigation and prevent flood of Hang river, make the good scenery for new urban area in the future, expanding the river-bed. The detailed missions of project are constructing 10 kilometres of urban road which goes along 2 sides of Hang river including 2 bridges, constructing two new dams, dredge the river-bed, landscape and illuminate work. The total of invest is about 400 billion VND. The project is in the step of feasibility study. The project has 3 design teams: irrigation design team, highway design team and electricity design team. The mission of highway design team is about the bridge and road sectors, including: 10 kilometres of urban road (Standard TCXDVN 104:2007), 2 concrete bridges, 13 kilometres of river-bed dredging. Besides, the leader of highway team collects quantities of all other design teams to make the cost estimate.

Position Held: Team Leader, Infrastructure Engineer, Estimate Engineer. Activities Performed:

Responsibility in design road and the river-bed dredging, including: alignment, pavement structure, drainage system, intersections, alignment of river-bed dredging. Collect the total of quantities, calculate the cost estimate, do the main report.

Project of Construction of Tran Nao road, Ho Chi Minh city Year: 2009 – 2010 Location: No.2 district, Ho Chi Minh city.

Company: Southern North Investment and Development Joint Stock Company Client: PMU of Road Area No. 2. Main Project Features:

Tran Nao road connects the Ha Noi boulevard to the beginning of the road to the Thu Thiem tunnel. Tran Nao road is one of the main roads in District No.2 which goes around the new Thu Thiem urban area. The goal of project is to upgrade the existing road to have the wider pavement and to meet the traffic capacity in the future when the project of the new Thu Thiem urban area will be completed. The design of prject is widening 2 lanes with 14 metres on both sides of road, improvement 1 (one) major intersection at the middle of road, upgrading the existing drainage system, constructing new electricity line. The project has the total of invest about 60 billion VND. The project is in the step of the feasibility study.

Position Held: Team leader, Highway Engineer, Estimate Engineer. Activities Performed:

Lead the topographic survey. Lead and participate in group to design road sectors: alignment, pavement structure, drainage system, intersection. Make the main report of project and calculate the cost estimate.

Design a road go bypass the Song Bung hydroelectricity and has the same technical level with the Ho Chi Minh road go through there. Reinforce the piles of Song Bung 5 birdge from water erosion.

Participate to topographic survey and design road items: alignment, pavement design, horizontal culvert, quantity.
