Get into the holiday spirit in Central PA! Visit a Christmas tree farm with a gift shop featuring over 80,000 ornaments, enjoy a holiday-themed meal with a reading of the new holiday classic “A Cup of Christmas Tea” tale, enjoy a wine tasting with wassail and perhaps include a regional festival!

We’ll have you ready to deck your home in style after a visit to a Christmas tree farm where you’ll learn how the German custom of decorating Christmas trees came to America during Victorian times, browse in its 12,000 square foot showroom (one of PA’s largest Christmas shops) and wonder at the owner’s tree stand collection featuring over 900 items.

Also visit a Victorian mansion restaurant for a meal that can, if you wish, include a theme ingredient such as cranberries or peppermint for the holiday season. Meal will include a cup of holiday-flavored tea to enjoy while listening to a reading of A Cup of Christmas Tea, a story of seasonal reflection. Another taste treat is a tasting including warm spiced wassail at an area winery.

Local festivals offer more holiday spirit. On a day trip, include time at Mifflinburg’s Christkindl Market (usually the second weekend in December opening late Thursday afternoon and running through Saturday) which can claim to be the U.S.’s oldest authentic Christkindl Market with over 100 vendors in booths along the town’s Market Street. Try delicious German treats, marvel at the life-size Nutcrackers and the bigger-than-life tinsel angel, and perhaps bump into German St. Nicholas or Santa Claus! On overnights consider a visit to Williamsport’s Victorian Christmas Festival (usually the third Saturday in November) including house tours or Wellsboro’s Dickens of a Christmas Festival (generally the first Saturday in December) when the town turns into a Dickens’ village with outdoor craft and food vendors, strolling carolers and more.

Be sure to bring along your holiday shopping list as there will be plenty of opportunity to purchase gifts for yourself and others on the tour with options including shopping in quaint historic downtown Lewisburg, Country Cupboard and Williamsport.
