Initial Status

After the interface of language laboratory system is open, the

system is set to be in the status of “Teach” (as fig 1). After teacher

wears the headset, he may start to teach the class. Under that

circumstance, student may hear teacher’s voice while the teacher

can not hear students’ voice.

Call Display: under Teach status, student may push the button

of CALL if he wants to report to teacher. Then, his seat button in

teacher’s PC is flickering in red and CALL sign is displayed in his

seat button too, to arouse teacher’s attention. (fig 3 show D2

student is calling to teacher)

Intercom Display: If teacher want to talk to one or several

students, he or she may click his or their seat buttons. Then the

seat buttons of chosen students turn yellow and both students

and teacher can hear each other. (fig 4, both D2 and C3 are

doing intercom with teacher) Reclicking student button seat can

end the intercom status to return to normality(fig 5, only C3 is

under Intercom status)

Chapter 1 Teach

1. All Call:

Under this status the

teacher can speak to the

whole class and student

can not listen to any

program. Under this

circumstance both channels are ready to play although student can

not hear. (Fig 6)

2. Model:

After Model button is

clicked, teacher may choose

one or several students to do

voice model for the whole class

(as D2 and C3 in Fig 7). Teacher may join in the models. After Clear

button is clicked, the chosen

students are set to exit from that

status.

3. Mix A:

Teacher can mix his voice with program played by CH A to do his

explanation without affecting CH B. (Fig

Notice:

If teacher want to assign whole class listen to CH A only, he may

move the cursor to the grey place (as Fig 9) and left click. Then all

students are assigned to listen to only CH A. The click to

“Broadcast” lead to the exit from that status.

4.Mix B:

Teacher may mix his voice with program played by CH B to do

explanation to CH B without affecting CH A. (Fig 10)

Notice:

If teacher want to assign whole class to listen to only CH B, he

may drag the mouse to include whole or partial class into a frame to

turn the seat button into green. Then the students within the frame

can only listen to CH B, and the rest can only listen to CH A. The right

click to the grey colored place can release this status. (Fig 11)

5 Electric white board

On the electric white board, the teacher can key some letters or load some text, then press send

button to display the content on the student’s machine.。

6. Monitor:

Under Teach status teacher may monitor student’s phone without

his awareness. (Fig 12)

7. Broadcast:

Teacher can play two programs through both CH A and CH B.

Student may listen to either channel. Teacher may assign some or

all students to listen to some CH. The operation is referred as 3 and

4. Under this circumstance teacher can not hear either of channels.

However, he can hear by click to Mix A or Mix B respectively.

8. Group:

After Group button is clicked, the whole class is set to be

grouped by five. A1, A2, A3, A4 and A5 are composed as one group,

A6, A7 to A10 are composed as other group. If the system is

composed of 48, 64, 80, 96 or 112 students, the group capacity is

set to be 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 to make up 16 groups. There is no affection

among groups. Teacher may easily join any group by clicking. (Fig

15 shows teacher was joining the group B1 to B5)

9.Clear:

Clicking this button can annul the previous status of intercom,

monitor or assign.

Chapter 2 Exam

1. Random Test:

After “Random Test” is clicked, teacher may issue the test

question by speaking, and students can do their answers by the

selection of pushing button A, B, C, D, E or F. Then teacher click

Answer button

to collect the answers, the answers students done are set to

displayed in their seat button for the convenience of teacher’s

check.

After “End test” is clicked, the system is set to exit from this status.

2. Preempt, Respond:

After Preempt button is clicked, students may push CALL buttons

to preempt their right to reply after hearing question from teacher’s

Mic. The earliest five students’ buttons are marked by yellow color, 2,

3, 4 and 5 in sequence. Furthermore, the first responded students are

automatically set to talk to teacher. After that, teacher’s every click to

Respond allow his hearing to second student, 3rd student, forth

student and 5th student in

sequence respectively.

Fig 18, student D2 achieved first priority to speak to

teacher. C2 achieved second priority.

The click to Exit can annul that status.

3. Free Exam:

Remarks: this function is appropriate for

the equipment with video distribution

system which allows one or two students

have one monitor.

“Open test paper” to choose the

document with test question. (as

Re-click “Begin test”, then the

frame like fig 20 is set to prop up.。

After enter into this status, student may take test. The student

recorder may save up to 128 answers. The testing time is

dynamically displayed for the convenience of teacher’s awareness.

Teacher may push “End test” to terminate the exam.

4.Collect test paper:

Clicking “Collect test paper” can prop out the following frame. Clicking

“Collect” to collect the answer sheet.

Input the document file name suffixed by “ans” then click “Save” to

collect answer sheet (fig 24).

Clicking “Save” as fig 24, the image as fig 25 will prop out which can

show the progress marked by small blue checked bar.

After completion of answer sheet collection, clicking Up button can

end AB paper test. If teacher want to produce the table of test result

and ranking list, he has to enter into Edit menu and click “Analysis

to answer sheet”

Chapter 3 Help

1. Help:

Teacher may get some guiding assistance from this menu. The

main operational procedure, function descriptions and cautions are

attached to this menu. (fig 27)

Chapter 4 Library

1. Media Software:

Media Software: clicking this button can initiate the media

playing software saved in PC like realplayer or media player to play

audio document or AV document and played through sound card.

Switch: after Media software was clicked and the target AV file

was chosen, click Switch button, click Video 1 and Broadcast. Then

the student may listen the playing AV program through CH1.

2.Loop monitor:

After Loop monitor is clicked, loop setting frame would prop out.

The interval to staying in each student seat can be set by inputting.

After the interval is set and confirmed, the loop monitor would

initiate starting from A1. teacher may also set the starting student

by clicking. (as fig 28)

3.Clear:

Clear can annul previous working status like Intercom, Monitor and

Assign.

Chapter 5 Edit

1. Analysis to answer sheet:

A . click “Analysis to

answer sheet” then “Answer

sheet document” to find the

collected test paper document.

After that, click “Test paper

document” to find the taken test

paper. (as fig 29)

B.For ”AB paper test”, both

paper test can be analyzed and

ranked. Clicking “Begin

analyze” can show the analysis

result with pie illustration to

different scores level. (Fig 30)

2. Edit test paper:

A. Click “Edit test paper” first.

B. After correct answer is edited under “Edit test paper”, as shown in

fig 31, the correct answer to question number 5 is C. The proper

operation procedures are pushing “<” first to reduce the question

number to what teacher want, then choose C among ABCDE answer

options, decide scores to each question.

The correct answer of question number 5 in fig 31 is C with scores of

10. After editing completion, clicking “Answer browse” can see the

scores and correct answer of each question.

The document name is suffixed by Exm after saved.

2. Student seat input:

Clicking “Student seat input” can prop out the student name edit table. Selecting “new class” first as fig 32, then input class name and student name to each student seat location respectively. After that, clicking “confirm” button can complete the class input and return to the initial interface. If teacher want to take out the saved class, he just clicks the class name in the relevant frame (as fig 33).

4.Educational material editing(edit classware):

Both the text and voice of document with the format of MP3 can be

edited. Clicking Edit classware, the frame like fig 35 would be out.

A:Click “Open” to select MP3 document. MP3 file should be matched

with TIT to play the text synchronously with the playing sound. TIT

file must be placed within the same document file together with its

MP3 file.

B:click “Edit” to prop out wordpad, then input text as fig 36.

Usually, a sentence one row. After

inputting one row, push Enter button.

After completion of inputting, click

“Document” “Save” “Exit”

to return to editing status.

C: As fig 37, to edit the educational classware at the file of MP3 with

synchronous playback of text and audio, Click play button to play

MP3 document. When played to some sentence at a certain time

point like 19 seconds, clicking Mark button to give a bookmark at that

point. And input the sentence, one sentence is set to be as one row.

Then save the input and the playing document. At this moment, the

classware is edited. If teacher want to take out the edited classware

to play for the whole class, he can easily take that out and play to

the whole class. The students can hear the program and see the

words synchronously if student side equip monitors or relevant

student terminals.

D: after marks are done. Click “Save” “Close” buttons, the

document of TIT with the same contents as MP3 would come out.

Since

then, MP3 document can by played by synchronous way to audio and

text.

Remarks: no special sign can be input to prevent malfunction.

Chapter 6 Switch

1. Video:

Video 1, video 2,

video 3 and playing

program from other

peripheral equipment are

played through the sound

card of PC.

Remarks:

A: If audio input is connected through L1 port and R1 port of main

control unit, clicking Video 1 can lead to the playback to that

program.。

B: VGA is set to control the signal of student monitor if it is

equipped.

C: Speaker is set to control the signal of amplifier for speaker.

Shown as fig 38, click Volume under left corner to adjust volume level of

record. Check Line in under audio play, and check Line in under record.

After the volume is set, clicking “digital record” can prop out the

interface as fig 39. then

click “Save” to start the

digital record.

After record is begun,

the Digital record button

turns into Stop record. Clicking that button lead to the termination of

digital record. (as fig 40)

If teacher want to play the

recorded material, he may click

the Open button locating in the

left side of interface to prop out a frame. Then choose the relevant

document, and to play.

4.Speed variation play

This function is available only under the system software of

Windows XP. Under this function the speed to playing audio

program can be varied from 50% to 150%.

3. Operations

Remarks: before the tape is placed into the tape recorder, the FF,

Play and some other operation can not be done.

1.Push PLAY button, the status display will be

Shown as right side graph.

2.Push PAUSE button or clicked by mouse, the status display

Will be shown as right side graph.

3. Push L, the program will be played through

Left track only.

4. Push R, the program will be played through

right track.

5. Push down L+R, the program will be played

Through both tracks.

6. Push VOL-, to decrease the volume down

While push VOL+ to increase the volume up.

7. Push down or click FF button to forward

the tape, shown as right graph.

8. Push down or click REW button to

back the tape to the point teacher want.

9. Push down STOP/EJECT to stop or/and eject

the cover of tape cabin.

Shown as right graph.

10. Push down Rec button, then the main recorder

can copy the program played by other main recorder.

11.Push down COUNT RESET, the count will

dynamically record the progress of tape.

12. Push down MEMOY, the recorder will remember

this point as 8008 without stopping the program play.

After stopped, push Rew, the tape will automatically

Stop at 8008 to play. Shown as right graph.

13. Push MEM to mark the memory point,

“A-“ is shown, after completion of this paragraph

Re-push MEMORY, “A-B” display will come out and the set paragraph

can be played again and again.

1. General operation notice: after power on to enter into initial

3. Operations Under Exam Status

Remarks: Only if teacher set the whole class into Exam status,

the LCD in student side can show as following figures.

1. When under Exam status, shown as fig 1

2. Fig 2 means answer for question No 1 is A.

3. Push down “<” button in the student panel, each one Push can

add the number following the (question) No, to go down to next

question. “>” marks up question. If the student wants to change

his answer to some question, he or she may push “<” or “>”

button to the question he wants, then change his answer options.

Signal Distributor: For distributor, if it is marked by 1-5, that means the distributor is designed to be applied for students located in the row of 1-4; if it is marked by 6-10, that means the distributor is designed to be applied for students located in the row of 5-8.

Detach the distributor. You may find that there are four pins inside... If you want to change the distributor marked by 6-10 into 1-5, change

jumper wire from pin 2 and 4 into 1 and 3. If you want to change the distributor marked by 1-5 into 6-10, change

jumper wire from pin 1and 3 to 2 and 4. we usually supply some plastic tubes as spare parts for customer usage to do jumper wire. .

Chatper 11 Cautions

n The diagram, graph and figure adopted in this manual are

designed to illustrate the features, function and operations for you

to upmost extent. Due to different version, some function might

not be detalied described or some discrepancies might have.

Please operate the equipment and make adjustment accordingly.

l The supplying power is assumed to be 220V±5% if not specified

at the time of placing order. If long time no usage, please power

off the equipment.

l Appropriate temperature: 0℃—40℃, Moisture:45%—85%. This

equipment can not be operated under strong magnetic field which

can damage the sound quality. Erosion matter should be far away

from the equipment.

l Avoid direct sunshining.

l The main control unit is complicately built. Non-professional is not

allowed to detach the main control unit under any circumstance.

l The PC should be used only for this language lab usage only to

avoid unwanted obstacle appearance or software loss or

malfunction.

l Bad quality tape or CD is not suggested to be used as program

source.

l It is strongly suggested to clean the record head and capston by

98% alchohol to ensure the audio quality.

l If sound quality get worse, please cabiler the position of maginetic

head.

l Please plug the connectors of Mic and earphone into the right

hole to avoid unwanted problems like no audio or other problems.

l If other trouble happens, please contact to the dealer asking for

the assistance of manufacturer.
