3 MEN OF THE CROSS CATHOLIC MEN’S CONFERENCE As men we all share in a common vocation, the call to fatherhood. It is up to us to recognize how God is speak-ing to us specifically, be it as biological fathers, as adop-tive fathers, as spiritual fathers in the priesthood or reli-gious life, or as single men in the world. To help men of all walks of life to further discern how to live their par-ticular vocation within the vocation of fatherhood, I cor-dially invite you to Men of the Cross, The Call to Father-hood; a men’s conference day held at Viterbo University in La Crosse. The day is filled with speakers, sacraments, food and fellowship. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 24th, and join Bishop Callahan along with other Catholic speakers to help live our calling in the world.
Speakers: Fr Larry Richards: Fr Larry speaks from his experience as a pastor of an inner city parish, a counse-lor and evangelist. Fr Larry will challenge you in a direct but non-preachy way to be a confident and strong man of the cross, finding strength in faith and genuine love to overcome your sins and faults.
Doug Berry: Doug has spoken throughout the world spreading and defending the Catholic faith. Alt-hough raised Catholic from his birth, it wasn’t until his adult years that Doug had a powerful experience with the Blessed Mother that led to being awakened to the cross in his life. He brings powerful insights and a mes-sage of faithful confidence to Catholic men.
Tom Peterson: Tom brings 25 years as an award-winning advertising executive to found Catho-licsComeHome, helping Catholics reconcile and re-connect with the faith. His latest apostolate, Virtue-Media.org has broadcast the prolife message to millions of young men and women. He will encourage you to seek God’s plan for your life and change our world for the bet-ter.
Fr Conrad Targonski: A member of the Order of Franciscan Minors, Fr Conrad spends much of his minis-try serving Catholic youth in universities and parishes. He is a retired U.S. Navy Chaplain, and is dedicated to helping veterans deal with the spiritual and physical an-guish of life after war. His message of faithful outreach and coping with the stress of life will inspire you to do the same.
Most Reverend William Patrick Callahan: Bishop Callahan is the 10th bishop of the Diocese of La Crosse. His Episcopal motto ‘We Adore You, O’ Christ’ calls to mind the words of St Francis: We adore you O’ Christ, here and in all your churches throughout the whole world, and we bless you; because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world’. Known for his love for the world and love for his people, Bishop Callahan will moti-vate you to love others as Christ did.

SCHOOL NOTES The 7th Grade are learning about Salvation History and about Moses and the Covenant in their Religion class. They are learning the many signs that God sent to His people so that they would have faith in Him. In English class the 7th Grade just completed studying simple subjects and predicates as well as direct and indirect objects. The many different kinds of nouns are coming next. -Miss Pelleymounter
