History @ The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College History is taught for one hour a week in Key Stage 3, this rises to 2.5 hours a week for GCSE History in Key Stage 4 and then 4 hours a week for AS and A Level History at Key Stage 5. Key Stage 3 – Study Units Each of the study units in KS3 run for approximately 7-8 weeks and finish with an assessment which is linked to one of the Historical Skill areas identified by the National Curriculum. The skills are; Extended Writing, Causes and Explanation, Change and Continuity, Sources and Evidence, Interpretation and Significance.
