As A Patisserie

As A Bistro And Cafe

Our Commitment

We kiss one another to show gratitude, happiness, excitement, love and affection. A kiss

inspires. And this inspiration begets energy. This energy, in turn, begets creativity. BIZU was

born out of this inspiration.

From this inspiration came the unique selection of cakes and pastries that were truly made to

inspire. It all began with a dream to have an authentic Parisian Patisserie where the finest

French pastries and European breads can be savored right in the Philippines. With much

training and patience, our Filipino chefs have learned the magical art of the French Patisserie.

Indeed, ensuring the most flavorful and artful products are brought to your homes is a labor of

love.

From a kiosk/café at the third floor of Glorietta 4 that started operations in 2001 now has three

more outlets in Greenbelt 2, Alabang Towncenter and at The Promenade inside Greenhills

Shopping Center.

The menu includes all day breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner items.

Customers are not to leave without the chewy pastel-colored Macarons de Paris that Bizu

Patisserie is known for.

Page 2: History

BIZU was coined from the French word "Bisous". Translated in English, the word means kiss.

“Beso-beso”, the Filipino term for kissing, is one of the most endearing and enduring qualities

of Filipinos. We kiss one another to show gratitude, happiness, excitement, love and affection.

A kiss inspires. And this inspiration begets energy. This energy, in turn, begets creativity. BIZU

was born out of this inspiration. From this inspiration came the unique selection of cakes and

pastries that were truly made to inspire.

It all began with a dream to have an authentic Parisian Patisserie where the finest French

pastries and European breads can be savored right in the Philippines. With much training and

patience, our Filipino chefs have learned the magical art of the French Patisserie. Indeed,

ensuring the most flavorful and artful products are brought to your homes is a labor of love.

Soon after, Bizu Private Caterer was launched so that customers can take Bizu to their homes.

Customers are not to leave without the chewy pastel-colored Macarons de Paris that Bizu

Patisserie is known for.

At Bizu, food is at the heart of everything we do- be it our pastries or bistro fare. The love for

fresh food is celebrated, where everyday eating makes for what we call part of the niceties of

good living.

"At Bizu, cakes are not merely baked- they are created. They are not merely kept in glass cabinets-

they are sat on pedestals. That’s because they are not only special- they are unique, each unlike any

other, each as much a piece of culinary experience as a piece of art, each produced out of respect as

much for highly discriminating tastes as for the niceties of good living." - Vergel O. Santos

We put great importance in making sure that we bring you the most special cakes and pastries

you could ever imagine. The harmony of flavours, the texture of our delicate mousses, and the

artistry we put into each creation mirrors the kind of dedication the Bizu team has- just so you

could perfectly indulge and be content. Visit us and be doe-eyed with the multi-colored

pastries displayed in our long vitrines.

Bizu Patisserie and Bistro

Celebrating the age-old spirit of the bistro has become Bizu's daily task. Here, traditional French fares

are served in an atmosphere where people are of the utmost importance. Conversation is encouraged.

The enjoyment of simple luxuries, a must. This marriage of food and soul produces the distinct

experience of dining elegantly -- at home. The goal is not merely to fill the stomach, but to satisfy the

warm cravings of the heart.

We also take pride in bringing modern interpretations of traditional French and Continental bistro food.

Bizu brings back classics to the table and enhances every bit of flavor.

Breakfast is served at 7:00 in the morning and even lasts all day. At the bistro, we serve more than

just great salads, sandwiches and pastas served at Bizu cafes. Our entrees come perfectly with fresh

soup and salad- and our customers tell us that eating at Bizu is all worth it. Even better, we grow the

organic Arugula greens ourselves in our little farm in Tanauan, Batangas. Our pastas, sandwiches,

soups, salads and entrees make the experience complete.

Bizu Patisserie and Bistro is located at:

Bizu Patisserie and Cafe

Bizu cafes are much smaller compared to the grandiose bistros Bizu is more popularly known for.

Everything served here is light, fresh and in ample portions. Our cafe food is prepared in the traditional

manner of a French country household where anything is wonderfully hearty. Enjoy a warm bowl of our

pumpkin soup or a French Onion soup. Marvel at organic fresh green salads in a melody of magnificent

flavors or simply enjoy a Croque Monsieur or a fresh pesto pasta.

Even better, sit back and relax at our cafe and allow us to create that perfect escape from your hectic

day. They say we make the best Lavazza coffee- Italy’s number 1, and the most tempting homemade

Hot Chocolate. Now isn’t that just perfect with an eclair one afternoon?

Our cafe at Alabang Town Center serves breakfast at 8 a.m. and it lasts throughout the day.

Our cafes are located at:

Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa City

Le Petit Bizu Robinsons Magnolia

The Podium, Mandaluyong City

ABOUT THE PATISSERIE- OUR CORE PRODUCT:

Bizu is Manila’s premiere Patisserie boasting of world-class Parisian-styled pastry creations. Since its inception in 2001, Bizu has managed to change the pastry landscape in Manila as it introduced artisan cakes (unique, hand made, and delicately designed cakes) in personal sizes that are both appealing to the eye and the palate. It was the first patisserie to bring in cakes with modern flavors, textures and forms not yet known or experienced by many Filipinos. In a way, the new patisserie was very risqué in delivering a new pastry style, as it veered away from traditionally tall, sponge and cream cakes. In fact, it did just the opposite, by creating cakes that were smaller in size yet flavor-packed and densely filled with the best ingredients. Bizu was also first to introduce the Macarons de Paris to Manila, and has then received rave reviews as it can rival many of those from authentic patisseries in Paris. From then on, cafes, hotels, restaurants and even other pastry shops have caught on with the craze—trying to deliver that unique, sophisticated and adventurous dessert experience.

ABOUT THE BISTRO:

Bizu is also a Bistro serving modern European comfort fare that is also attuned to the Filipino palate. Its cuisine style is unique in the sense that it is not afraid to combine new flavors to readily available ingredients in Manila. French Bistro classics are updated with a new twist and flair. Like its patisserie counterpart, every savory dish is also a delightful experience with its artistic plating concepts that match the flavor, texture and taste. At Bizu bistro, food is done right, and you can be sure that you are also being taken cared of. For the chef, food is there to nourish both the heart and the soul—and as such, Bizu is likewise serving healthy bistro options (organic vegetables, free-range chicken and eggs, South Beach diet options) to its discerning and deserving clientele. The bistro is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and after-dinner fare.

THE BRAND:

BIZU was coined from the French word "Bisous". Translated in English, the word means kiss. “Beso-beso”, the Filipino term for kissing, is one of the most endearing and enduring qualities of Filipinos. We kiss one another to show gratitude, happiness, excitement, love and affection. A kiss inspires. And this inspiration begets energy. This energy, in turn, begets creativity. inspiration. From this inspiration came the unique selection of cakes and pastries that were truly made to inspire.

THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS:

It all began with a dream to have an authentic Parisian Patisserie where the finest French pastries and European breads can be savored right in the Philippines. With much training and patience, our Filipino chefs have learned the magical art of the French Patisserie. Indeed, ensuring the most flavorful and artful products are brought to your homes is a labor of love. From a kiosk/café at the third floor of Glorietta 4 that started operations in 2001, BIZU now has outlets in Greenbelt 2, Alabang Town Center, The Promenade, Greenhills Shopping Center, St. Luke's Global City, One Rockwell and opening soon at Filinvest City. The menu includes all day breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner items. Soon after, Bizu Catering Studio was launched so that customers can take Bizu to their homes. At Bizu, food is at the heart of everything we do- be it our pastries or bistro fare. The love for fresh food is celebrated, where everyday eating makes for what we call part of the niceties of good living.

THE EXPERIENCE:

Bizu provides a laid back and casual approach to European dining. The atmosphere is one that is warm and welcoming, rather than cold and intimidating. One can come in and casually sit down to savor Manila’s best Parisian-styled cake without any apprehensions or inhibitions. Imagine ladies chit-chatting over lunch break, a couple sharing an intimate breakfast together, a powerhouse ad agency conducting a private brainstorm session one afternoon by the mezzanine, or a family celebrating mom’s birthday for dinner on a Saturday night. Because Bizu, itself is an art, and art inspires ideas, dreams and feelings, Bizu becomes a venue where emotions are poured and shared. The unique food creations and hospitable Filipino service secures this one of a kind experience.

THE SERVICE:

Genuine service is the battle-cry of the service staff at Bizu. Indeed, true Filipino hospitality is best exemplified here. There is warmth, gentleness, and sincerity. The staff knows every product and service available at Bizu and is keenly aware of the different needs of each client. A Bizu server is understanding, caring, compassionate, and helpful.

THE TARGET MARKET:

Bizu targets specifically those that are more adventurous and discriminating in their preference for food. These people belong in the age bracket of 20 to 60, lead active lifestyles, have a strong propensity for travel, and likely go to the malls very frequently. They are attuned with both trends and fads, and are also willing to spend for good value.

OTHER SUPPORTING PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

LE PETIT BIZU:

Bizu wants its products and services easily accessible to a larger audience by being available in more locations. As such, the Le Petit concept makes it easier for Bizu to achieve this. The Bizu branch in Robinsons Magnolia is the prototype of the café concept. The advantage of the cafe is that it doesn't require too much investment (in terms of a full-sized kitchen), and it doesn't have a high

Page 6: History

operating cost (because rent is relatively low since the area is small). It offers approximately 70% of the standard product offering of the Bistro. For quick meals, and a no-frills chitchat over a good cup of coffee, the Le Petit Bizu is the perfect venue for laid back moments or for quick meetings. The atmosphere is kind and unobtrusive. The Le Petit also acts as an accessible pick-up counter for Bizu’s famous cakes, pastries and breads.

BIZU CATERING STUDIO:

Bizu Catering Studio is an offshoot of the Bistro concept. It was created solely because of the demand of our customers to bring Bizu to their homes. The brand itself carried with it very powerful evocations of warmth and pleasantries, that Bizu was immediately invited to homes and private gatherings. Be it for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, cocktails, dinner and yes, even just for desserts, Bizu delivers gourmet fare, delectable pastries, professional service and tasteful styling to every momentous celebration-- showers, birthdays, anniversaries, launches, and even to weddings. Creativity is unmatched. The passion and dedication by its catering members are clear.

LE PICNIQUE:

Le Picnique is Bizu’s newborn concept for an office catering line. Being located in busy business locations, Bizu saw the need of business offices for impressive take away gourmet food to serve its most important business prospects, board members, managers and key personnel. Fast food take aways just do not cut it anymore for the big bosses. The Le Picnique line also delivers healthy take away alternatives. Once again, Bizu makes its products more accessible through this delivery service.

CAKES AND FAVORS:

The demand for unique specialty cakes and favors for special occasions are increasing in number. Weddings, birthday parties, debuts and special anniversaries call for unique pieces to give away and impress guests. Wedding cakes by Bizu use modern and professional pastry techniques that are relatively very new to Manila. Using pulled sugar techniques, sculptural designs and unique cake flavours to match, Bizu is sure to pave the way in professional European wedding cake design
