a) Nobles: They lived in castles and they had their own armies.
b) Clergy: They lived in monasteries. Often, they were the only peoplewho could read and write.
a) Craftsmen and merchants: They lived in the cities and formed the firstbusinesses. Because of these people, shops and markets were builtand the cities grew.
