The National Park Services NationalCenter or Preservation Technology and
Training protects Americas historic legacyby equipping proessionals in the eld o
preservation with progressive technology-based research and training. Since its
ounding in 1994, NCPTT has awardedover $7 million in grants or research that
ullls its mission o advancing the useo science and technology in the elds
oarcheology, architecture, landscapearchitecture and materials conservation.
Without consistent intervention byhumans, an historic landscape canquickly revert into wilderness or
crumble under oot. Maintainingan historic landscape is a critical
component o any preservation plan.
NCPTTs Historic Landscapesprogram encourages research and
partnerships that advance techniquesand training in historic landscape
management.
NCPTT was created by Congress in 1992 to developand disseminate preservation technologies and to trainpractitioners in the eld.
