The Historic Hotels of Europe (HHE), the leading name in historical and culturally relevant luxury hotels, honoured some of the finest properties in Europe at the 2016 Historic Hotels of Europe Awards hosted in the stunning Chateau de l’Epinay, France on November 16th 2015. Castles, a convent, elegant country houses and a former tobacco store. These are among the ten luxury hotels that have beaten off competition from 500 competitors to be named the winners in the Historic Hotels of Europe awards. Guests voted for their favourite hotels in ten wide-ranging categories, encompassing romance, legend, fine dining, spa facilities and more. The Winners were announced at the ceremony by the Chairman of the Historic Hotels of Europe, Barbara Avdis.

Historic Hotels of Europe

The Historic Hotels of Europe annual Awards are the highest honorand reward given to a historic hotel. Each award validates the passionand dedication of the Historic Hotel hoteliers to the preservation ofthe European culture and history through superb hospitality.

Owning and maintaining a historic house is a challenge. Showcasingthe history of the locale by providing excellent comfort and authenticservice is a great accomplishment.

Each year, 10 hotels from the Historic Hotels of Europe collection aregiven the Award. The collection that covers every corner of Europe and every type of guest experience: from palatial city breaks, tomountain hideaways in castles, culinary gems in manor houses, splendid beach estates, and legendary spas.
