T/e DualEveryone
Multi-slice technology is becoming the universal CT scanningtechnology. From experience gained in the development of matrix anddual detector CT systems, GE Medical Systems now providesyou access to the many advantages of this new technology:greater speed, better resolution and extended coverage. Designed through Six Sigma quality methodology, CT/e Dualbenefits from General Electric's latest innovations, and allowsyou to increase productivity, optimize patient flows and aboveall allows access to a large number of advanced clinical appli-cations. CT/e Dual therefore offers to everyone unrivaledmulti-functionality, image quality and reliability.
The strength of multi-slice technology By acquiring twice the quantity of data in
a single rotation, CT/e Dual allows you to work faster with the same image qualityas a single-slice system, and obtain better resolution without any increase in acquisition time.

With a single-slice CT scanner, increasing the pitch leads toa modification of image quality. With CT/e Dual, everythingis different! Thanks to its dual detector and its patentedreconstruction algorithms, GE Medical Systems has beenable to determine the "ideal" pitch depending on whether the priority is resolution or speed.

HiLight detector: The reference in solid-state detectorsGE Medical Systems' supremacy in the field of solid-state detectorsis acknowledged throughout the world: its HiLight detector alreadyprovides superior image quality with notable dose reduction. This is due to an exceptional absorption factor (99% at 120 kVp)and an outstanding scintillation efficiency. In 1998, GE MedicalSystems innovation led to the launch of the matrix-based detector.CT/e Dual combines performance and complete mastery of multi-slice technology.
BeamTracking: improved image qualityand dose reductionBeamTracking is a unique feature from GEMedical Systems that guarantees real-timefocus stability. A dynamic collimator perma-nently checks the centering of the X-ray
beam on the detectorthanks to data transmittedin real time by the detectoritself. Collimation is thusperfectly adjusted to slicethickness, post-patient collimation is unneces-sary, and the dose isreduced.
CT/e Dual benefits from GeneralElectric's very latest technical innovationsand its proven experience. The result:perfectly consistent technological choicesthroughout the imaging chain. While most of these technologies havebeen developed with the aim of obtainingexceptional image quality, they allcontribute significantly to the reductionin dose to the patient.

AAR/ANR: exclusive algorithms to reduce artefactsAAR (Advanced Artefact Reduction) enables linear artefactsto be reduced at shoulder and pelvis level, and also reducesartefacts caused by the presence of metallic objects. Evenimmobilized patients can be examined with their arms in thefield of view. ANR (Advanced Noise Reduction) is a reconstruction algorithm providing selective filtering of noise present in the image without any decrease in spatial resolution.
Bowtie Filter: further dose reductionBowtie filter attenuates off-axis rays in order to maintain a more uniform X-ray field at the detectorwhatever the position of the beam through thepatient. The bowtie filter minimizes surface dose by up to 50% and reduces X-ray scattering effects.

AutomA: optimal image quality The absorption coefficient of X-rays varies for different tissues; a constant tube current may be too high or too low. AutomA adapts current to the absorption coefficient for each slice. Signal/Noise ratio increases and the dose is reduced.
A single scout view providesattenuation profiles for each rotation and allows the necessary current to be calculated. Required mA isautomatically applied to theZ-axis for each rotation.
