Christ Community Church Building on the Word
Christ Community Church August 6, 2017
We continue a communion Sunday series on “The Cross of Christ.” _____________
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
and are justified freely by his grace.” (Romans 3:23-24)
Use the time before we begin to prepare for worship.
We worship our Savior Songs of Praise
Opportunities at CCC Prayer and Worship through Giving
We hear the Gospel from God’s Word Romans 3:21-26
Message: “Justified by Grace by a Just God”
We come to the Lord’s Table
Whether or not you’re a member of this church, if you trust Christ as Lord and Savior you are welcome at his table.
The bread, Christ’s body - Eat when you are ready. The cup, Christ’s blood - Hold the cup so we can participate together.
Benediction and Postlude
[God sent his Son to the cross] “so as to be just and the one who justifies the man who has faith in Jesus"
(Romans 3:26)
Without justification it is impossible to have real peace. Conscience forbids it. Sin is a mountain between a man and God, and must be taken away. The sense of guilt lies heavy on the heart and must be removed. Unpardoned sin will mur-der peace. The true Christian knows all this well. His peace arises from a con-sciousness of his sins being forgiven, and his guilt being put away. ... He has peace with God, because he is justified.

Camp Reflections - August 20 Come enjoy one last look back on the awesome 2017 Camp Zion summer Youth Camps! Camp Reflections will feature testimonies, multi-media presentation with pictures and videos from the summer, and an ice cream social! Join us at 6:00pm in the Christian Arts Auditorium. One Camp Session Left! Camp Zion can be one of the greatest experiences in a child's life. Spaces remain for our last session, Pre-Camp (K-1st Grade; with parent; August 10 - 13). Take a Camp Zion brochure and give it to a neighbor, friend, co-worker, or grandchild!
“All have sinned” This is the testimony of the Bible, not just Romans 3:10 and 23:2 Chronicles 6:36; Psalms 130:3 and 143:2; Proverbs 20:14; Ecclesiastes 7:20. Justified means not condemned You can see that justification is the opposite of condemnation by looking at Romans 5:18 and 8:33-34. In these two texts, to be justified is to not be condemned in God’s court. Justification is in the Psalms, too! This summer we’re hearing from the Psalms, except on communion Sundays when we take up the Cross of Christ. Today’s cross-related topic, justification by grace by a just God, did not first appear in the Bible when Paul wrote Romans. Martin Luther rediscovered this key Reformation doctrine first when studying the Psalms. “All who take refuge in [God] will not be condemned” (Psalm 34).

Join us on Monday, September 4 at 8:00am in The South Cafeteria of ZBTHS Horizon Campus. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Black Robed Regiment In this presentation, Oklahoma pastor and State Representative, Dan Fisher, gives a brief history of the Patriot Preachers of the Revolution and shows how we need them to emerge today. Without an “awakening” in today’s pulpit, Dan believes America will not survive. Thus, his clarion call is that it is time, past time, to Bring Back the Black Robed Regiment. Mr. Fisher will present Sunday, September 3 at 6:00pm at CCC (free) and Monday, September 4 at 8:00am at the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast at ZBTHS South Café. $15 advance ticket to the Breakfast is required.
