Date Completed: 2012 - April

Commissioned by the Spanish king whose name it bears, one of the most prestigious hotels in Europe, Hotel Alfonso XIII, represents the complex and layered cultural history of Seville, from its Moorish artistic influences and exotic Andalusian culture.

HBA was entrusted to undertake a program of historical restoration and refurbishment to protected areas of the hotel, combined with whole scale reimagining of key spaces. Rendered in a neo-Mujedar style, the hotel is a perfectly harmonious addition to historic Seville, the

romantic southernmost part of Spain, which introduced the world to flamenco dancing and bullfighting.

The St. Regis Rome, Couture SuiteStarwood Hotels and Resorts

Date Completed: 2012 - December

In the spirit of the film Roman Holiday, glamour, fashion and nostalgia form the storyline for HBA's design of St. Regis Rome's Couture Suite. Inspired by the city's renowned fashion and design studios, the suite features signature furnishings and accessories, which celebrate the best of Italian style. In particular, the designers' muse was the couturier Valentino, whose fashion house was founded in Rome in 1965. With their timeless grace, emphasis upon flowing shapes and meticulous attention to detail, the essence of his creations has been woven into the rooms' design. Exquisitely luxurious materials and intricate embellishments, such as nail head trim on the timber paneling and millwork, the softest Italian leathers and finely stitched embroidery on the furniture, form the most elegant of suites.

Four Seasons Hotel, GuangzhouFOUR SEASONS HOTELS & RESORTS

Challenging perceptions of hotel design, HBA sets a new benchmark for avant-garde with the Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou. Remarkable for both its soaring height and contemporary design, the hotel rises 103 stories above the Pearl River. The project is architecturally dramatic for its triangular tower, diagonal lattice and soaring, 30-floor-high atrium. From the ground floor, guests take dedicated express elevators to the 70th floor lobby, where a dramatic three-meter red steel sculpture by Australian artist Matthew Harding. The incredible naturally-lit atrium, surrounded by restaurants and rooms above, is higher than the top of St. Paul\'s Cathedral in London and New York\'s Statue of Liberty. The intricate textured screen made of woven metal wraps around the interior of the sky-high lobby. In a subtle reference to the hotel brand, the screen is themed around the four seasons, from spring in the basement to fall in the upper reaches. The architect created amazing spaces for HBA to work with and this building stands out as a new design icon for both Guangzhou and for the Four Seasons brand.

Kempinski Ambience Hotel in India \ Hirsch Bedner Associates

HBA / Hirsch Bedner Associates recently has completed the interior project for Kempinski Ambience Hotel. Just East of New Delhi, India and opening in July 2012, the Kempinski Ambience is located in the largest convention center in Northern India and will feature 480 luxury hotel rooms, five restaurants, two pools and a state of the art spa and fitness center.

In order to create a space for the most sophisticated travelers that would also meet the needs of the Kempinski Ambience business clientele, HBA used a palette that is both elegant and calm, relying on warm beiges and browns that are accented by splashes of rich Indian color tones including indigo blue, saffron yellow and vibrant reds. Cultural references are underlined by an art collection comprised of works by contemporary Indian artists, which in turn act as a highlight of the interior elements.

The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu DhabiStarwood Hotels & ResortsLocated on the white natural beach of Saadiyat, this 380-room hotel is a landmark and choice for discerning, well-traveled connoisseurs. The pristine Saadiyat Island, just 20 minutes from the Abu Dhabi International airport and seven minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi, overlooks pure white beaches and the warm azure seas of the Persian Gulf and is currently being transformed into the new cultural center of the Arabian world.

St. Regis Saadiyat Island promises more than a respite from the urban -- it promises a freedom from concerns. The purpose of a seaside resort is to invite the guest into relaxation, pleasure and comfort. At the St. Regis Saadiyat Island, design is more than visual enrichment -- it is essential to the guest experience. Inspired by the legacy of the Astor family from the New York's Gilded Age, the hotel combines a modern interpretation of the finest levels of service with the local heritage of Abu Dhabi. For the hotel, HBA took inspiration from their surroundings and created a contemporary Mediterranean interior design with Arabic influences. The style was further enhanced by the interesting use of local products and elements. The overall pallet has a strong connection to the island and is very light and airy with a number of natural and earthy materials, colors and shapes including sand roses and sea swells.

Four Seasons Resort SeychellesFour Seasons Hotels & ResortsThe Four Seasons Seychelles is a beguiling combination of graceful tree house architecture and untouched natural beauty creating the ultimate Indian Ocean escape for those who value privacy and seclusion. The luxury resort is perched on a Jurassic granite landscape, overlooking a perfect crescent of porcelain white sand beach. The interiors take their influence from rustic local homes and the refined French Creole flavor of the surrounding islands. Hand-planed wooden floors and white-washed timber slat walls are complimented by a thoughtful mix of French antiques, modern classics and found objects that have been transformed into sculptural pieces for sophisticated living. Colours are subtly influenced by the teal blue ocean, indigenous cinnamon tree leaves and copious bamboo groves, providing a sense of place and enhancing the indoor-outdoor aesthetic pervasive throughout this spectacular property

The Europe Hotel & ResortLiebherrThe Europe's resort hotel and spa exudes contemporary, natural luxury as it overlooks Killarney’s majestic Loch Lein. The renovation, begun in November 2006, covered all of the resort’s public areas including the Crystal Bar, Brasserie, spa and café, suites and guestrooms. The late-1960s-style, mid-century modern building contained especially spacious rooms that allowed panoramic views of Loch Lein. HBA suggested removal of some façade and augmented it with clear glazing to accentuate the views. Contrasting the large areas, the hotel contains several intimate spaces, such as a library and a champagne bar, which made the project much more residential and a trend in boutique hotel design

Grand Hyatt Dubai, Ahasees Spa & ClubHyattMuch like a painter HBA dipped its brush into the local pallet to design the Ahasees Spa & Club at Grand Hyatt Dubai. The outcome is a clean and textural refuge. The lower level is made up of a serene palette composed of white marble, contrasting dark tones of walnut woods and copper metals. Warm mid-tones of amber and sand with finishes of custom coloured Kinon were used to contrast the iridescent copper glass mosaics and metal wall tiles; the outcome, a contemporary

harmonious space. In sync with the contemporary design are accents of Arabic design, featuring large-scale abstract geometric patterns engraved into the bronze tinted glass doors.

ESPA at The Istanbul EditionESPAThe ESPA at The Istanbul Edition Hotel is a contemporary, state-of-the-art spa with design influences drawn from Turkish tradition and local customs. The indulgent interiors of the ESPA incorporate beauty, health and wellness that are both social and luxurious. Spread over three floors, the extraordinary 20,000 square foot spa is breathtaking with its delicate combination of dark and sumptuous lighting, rich metallic woods, embossed bronze floors, lavish seating and walls upholstered in exquisite horsehair. Crystals are also delicately integrated into the spa design. The combination of these unique design elements helps to create the perfect space for this boutique hotel.

INSPRIED BY HBA HOSPITILITY AND TAKEDN SHAPE (CRUVES) AS AN ELEMENT FOR DESIGN OF CHANDELIER .

A chandelier is like jewellery for the interior. Its role is not only to cast light but also to decorate. Even when switched off, a well chosen chandelier is a focal point of the room, attracts attention and makes a statement of your style. It is also a work of art which is a sheer pleasure to look at - over and over again! There are three design factors that should be considered in an objective way ARE STYLE , SIZE AND COLOUR.

With the reintroduction of decoration and pattern in interior design after the pared-down minimalism of the 1990s, the chandelier has found itself back in fashion once again. There are many stunning designs available, both traditional in style and contemporary examples, with faceted crystals that give off the most sparkle, as well as smooth droplets, lenses and tubes that appear to glow from within. In various shapes and sizes, from dramatic spirals and theatrical cascades to simple branches and tiers, they are an obvious way to bring a decorative light effect into a room and provide instant focus.

Conventionally, chandeliers were centrally located, and often they were the only source of light within a room. Now more often considered as one element in a lighting scheme made up of many different effects, chandeliers can still be effective as a central feature, over a dining table or in a high-ceilinged hallway. Don’t let this limit your imagination – the effect can be dramatic and surprising when they are used in unexpected setting, such as in a bathroom suspended over a bathtub, or hung in the corner of a room as a feature light. Chandeliers can even be used on either side of a bed as an alternative to a bedside light, which is a particularly effective solution where space is restricted.

Bear in mind, too, when choosing a chandelier for a room, that an overscaled decorative fitting will always create more drama. A chandelier that is too small for the space will look apologetic and will not deliver the impact it should.
