Hires Big H is a Utah-based restaurant that produces fry sauce and other products such as root beer extract. These products are widely available in grocery stores in the Intermountain West. Since its inception in 1959, its products and food have become a local mainstay. They pride themselves on the fulfillment of their motto: Hires Big H is the gathering place for tasty food and cheerful service for friends and family from all walks of life.
Although fry sauce is mostly a regional dish found in the western United States, the appeal is widespread. One can order fry sauce from popular sites such as Amazon and have it shipped anywhere. People love the stuff once they try it, theres no denying it. The question is, how can we get people to pick this up from off the shelf at their local grocery store? Targeting families in the

Intermountain West region, especially those who love burgers and fries, is the priority for this redesign. The design and the message will primarily be for them.
While Hires Big Hs branding has been classic and well done, they dont set themselves apart from their competition. In an attempt to remedy this issue, I will scrap almost everything and make a new logo. I will also create new visuals. The only thing I will keep is some of the messages printed on the label. The goal here is to differentiate Hires Big H from other fry sauces on the market. Most use red and white as their color scheme. Most have a 1950s theme. To make Hires Big H stand out, I will do none of those things. My design will be hip, trendy, and appeal to the hipster side of society that is quickly establishing its buying power in the market. This change will increase sales, guaranteed.

Placement Recommendations
It should never take up the entire space available. In fact, plenty of white space should be surrounding it. It should always be in the center, not on the side or off center.

This logo should always be proportional. It doesnt so much matter how big it is, as much as it doesnt take up all of the space available.

AdvertisementFor this advertisement, I decided to do a full-page magazine ad. This is because young adults are more likely to find this advertisement here. Magazines are seen as classy and hip, so hipsters often read them. When they do, theyll see this! I wanted to make the bottle, (and specifically the label), stand out as much as possible. I also wanted to portray a fun atmosphere. I think both were accomplished with this ad.
