The ‘Bureau des Guides SNGM’ is affiliated with the National Union of Mountain Guides, a label for quality and professionalism, was established over a century ago like its equivalents in Chamonix and many others in the Alps and the Pyre-nees. This label is awarded exclusively to the ‘Bureau de Cassis’ for the Calan-ques and the Cap Canaille, covering the mountains Saint Victoire and Saint-Baume.

This Bureau is made up exclusively of mountain guides, mountain escorts, as well as climbing, mountain biking, kayaking experts.... These professionals of outdoor activities offer high quality service and coaching. You will have an op-portunity discover, or rediscover, the future National Park and its rich natural beauty, with full respect and protection of the environment.

1 - HIKING

The Calanques de Cassis is a paradise for hikers because of the extraordi-

nary landscapes and the wild and unusual places. The creeks are one of

the jewels of the Mediterranean coast. Our team of guides are very kno-

wledgeable of the region to guide you along the trails and teach you

about the local flora and fauna.

The « cacau » heritage walk Level : - 15 € - 3 hours Suitable for children from 7 years, this family walk will take you to the tip Cacau. During this tour, our guides will take to witness the remains of the past to tell you the story of hu-man Creeks... Meeting point: Car park of Cassis peninsula

The panoramic « en vau » Level : - 15 € - 3 hours Open to all, this tour will show you the Blackcurrant Creeks. These miniature fiords are jewels of nature which will trans-port you to the point of sublime the En Vau cove. Meeting point: Car park of Cassis peninsula

The wonders of the parc Level : - 45 € - 1 day (6/8 hours) This challenging trek will take you to the heart of the wild

2 - Adventure trail

The adventure trail is combines climbing, trekking and via cordata. This activity will take you off the beaten track in the wild parts of the Calan-ques. Routes are composed of different workshops: climbing, abseiling and hiking.

The « trou souffleur » level : - 45 € - 3 hours The canyon of the ‘trou souffleur’ is located at the cliff at the end of the dry Cap Canaille. It starts with some abseiling and then a zip line. Finally, you reach the top of the cliff by via cordata. Meeting point: Car park at Figuerolles (La Ciotat)

the Philémon « crossing » Niveau : - 60 € - Day This breathtaking course is accessible to all those comfortable getting close to steep drops. Abseiling, via cordata, climbing and caving will make for a very busy day. Meeting point : Semaphore car park (ridge road)

The summit of « Cap Canaille » Level : - 78 € - Day This via cordata snakes along the Cap Canaille and offers stunning views of the rocky Calanques de Cassis. It ends with a stunning climb (40 metres) that will take you to the top of the Cap Canaille. Meeting point : Semaphore car park (ridge road) Rendez vous : Parking du sémaphore (route des crêtes)

3 - climbing

The Calanques offer an outstanding range of climbing routes. Balance, precision and flexibility will be needed.

Climbing wall taster level : - 19 € - 2 hours This educational session for all ages will be an opportunity to learn to climb in an environment suitable for beginners. You will learn the basics in terms of security and the correct climbing form. Meeting point: Régis Vidal park (course in the trees)

An introduction to the calanques Niveau : - 35 € - 3 hours All year round come discover the joys of climbing. All ages, individuals or groups are welcome test their sense of balan-ce in a dream-like setting. Meeting point : Varies according to the specific activity

Les Grandes Voies D’ESCALADE Level : - 180€ half a day & 300€ day (Rates for 1 or 2 people) The routes range from 80 to 300 metres with something for all levels. This activity is even accessible to complete novices who have never tried climbing but are motivated to get high! Meeting point : Varies according to the specific activity

4 - CANYONing and water sports

Canyoning involves going down river with obstacles as part of fun work-

shops. You will cross using techniques such as: jumps, slides, swimming

or abseiling. This course takes place in the whitewater of the Maritime

Alps. However, we also offer an introduction to canyoning techniques in

* the lttle prince drop (summer) Level : - 40 € - 3 hours (Jully / August) This nature trail of the Little Prince at Port Miou is fun and refreshing. Jumping, abseiling and more, everything comes together for an unforgettable time. ** the riolan (summer) Level : - 95 € - Day (Jully / August) This canyon is located in the valley of Estéron. It is a 2 hour and 30 minute drive to get to the cool, clear water of Riolan. This route offers a fun variety of jumps, slides, and abseiling. Meeting point : Car park in front of the tourism office in Cassis For this activity accessible to those 14 years old and older, it is essential to know how to swim. **Transportation and the jumpsuit rental is included

5 - abseiling

This is the ultimate for intense sensations. It does not require any parti-cular sports abilities, but you do need to keep your cool and to control your emotions as you slip into the void. Adrenaline rush is guaranteed.

the belvédère drop Level : - 30 € - 2 hours This 100-metre abseil from the summit of Cap Canaille offers panoramic views of the Calanques and the bay of Cassis. It’s a great challenge which can done solo or as a shared experience. Meeting point : The Belvédère of Cap Canaille (Cassis)

6 - caving

Caving is a multifaceted activity that brings together different techniques

from climbing and canyoning. Accessible to all, from 7 to 77 years, caving

offers the possibility to discover the mineral wealth of the subterranean

world.

The caving adventure trail Level : - 35€ - 3 hours Ideal for children (from 7 years old), this activity consists of workshops to learn the basics of handling ropes used in ca-ving. This circuit consists of various workshops such as absei-ling, the handrail, or rope climbing. Meeting point: Fardeloup car park

the « la castelette » cave Level : - 55 € - Day Located on the Sainte Baume massive near the village of Plan d’Aups, this good sized cave is one of the most famous in the region of Provence. Key passages include abseiling from the Medusa or the handrail of the subterranean river will certain-ly be memorable. Meeting point : Hotel car park (Plan d’Aups)

7 - mountain biking

Mountain bike is a fun way to discover the Calanques. Either along the

creeks, or in the pine forest, our professional guides will lead you

through paths adapted to you. Easy and challenges rides are all possible,

we will find the option that suits you.

« balcons de Cassis » Level : - 40 € - 3 hours A fun downhill track that will take you through the province’s scrublands to the creek of Port Miou. Meeting point : Cassis train station car park

the « Janots » Trek Level : - 40 € - 3 hours On this challenging course, you will alternate between forest paths and fun trail. Located on the heights of Cassis, in the shade of the pines of Provence, this route will be ideal for summer mornings. Meeting point : Cassis train station car park

8 - MOUNTAINEERING

From the sea to the mountain there is no border. The guides are also specialists of high peaks. It would be a pleasure to share our passion for the mountains
