Being located in the capital city of the Gujarat State, Gandhinagar Charitable Trust Sanchalit Samarpan Arts and Commerce

College was established, in 1996, by veteran philanthropist Shree Shankersinhji Vaghela with the sole aim of serving in the

field of education, especially with a view to care for the educational needs of the students from various areas of the state.

This grant-in-aid college endeavours to stimulate the development of creative and intellectual curiosity. The chief

beneficiaries are those students who come from the diverse strata of the region, especially from the remote villages of

South Gujarat and Saurashtra. The visionary and altruistic members of the Gandhinagar Charitable Trust ensure to admit at

least 60% students from ST, SC, OBC & Minority. Affiliated to Gujarat University, and functioning under the auspices of

Gandhinagar Charitable Trust, Samarpan Arts and Commerce College offers undergraduate courses with Bachelor's Degree

Programmes (B.A. & B.Com.) in the field of Economics, English, Sanskrit, Gujarati and Commerce along with choice of

elective courses in Psychology and Sociology. For the last two decades, this co-educational institution is committed

towards shaping humane force and continuously working in creating and developing human resource for public service

and admin sectors. Consequently, a large number of students have been serving in various public sector services and

offices of the Gujarat State and outside as well. The institution also places strong emphasis on physical fitness and as a

result, in past few years, our students have won Medals at National events in Shooting, Boxing, Karate and Taekwondo.

Situated near the South-Western Base of the Indian Air Force, our IGNOU centre (SC-0911) for distance education fosters

the needs of young officers, especially in the services of AIF, BSF and CRPF.

Higher Education Teacher preparation is one of the most widespread and important fields of professional training in the

country. Colleges and universities house more than 1,400 schools of education or education departments approved by the

state to prepare teachers for public schools in what is termed "traditional teacher preparation." These institutions of higher

education (IHEs) also have established "alternative certification programs" that differ from traditional programs primarily

in the timing of the coursework, rather than in its content. (In traditional programs, teacher candidates enter the classroom

only after completing coursework, whereas in alternative certification offered by IHEs they do so simultaneously with

coursework.) Hundreds of organizations outside IHEs have begun in recent years to prepare teachers through alternative

certification programs. This primer will provide a general overview of the field of teacher preparation, with a particular

focus on aspects of Research, Innovation, Intellectual property rights and new models for higher education teachers. GAP

analyses teacher preparation programs to determine the extent to which policies and practices they promote and ensure

that the country has teachers who effectively help their students achieve at high levels. We start with the premise that the

design of these programs is of prime importance, because that serves as the foundation for a program's function and

impact. Following topics will be covered in National Conclave.
