Our skin’s main function is to provide a protective barrier. As part of this function, our skin has an acidic pH, which varies person to person. However, traditional skin care creams contain a soap based binding ingredient, called an emulsifier. The problem is that soap based emulsifiers leave a residue on the skin, disrupting the natural pH of the skin and interferes with normal skin homeostasis. Even worse, this residue attacks the skin’s protective barrier and causes the skin to become drier than if no product were used at all.

While most companies focus on the next ingredient trend, our scientists focused on a new soap-free emulsion system that works synergistically with the skin.
