allowing PCC chippings to be pulled out by hand. Un-chipped drainage kerb channel lines havealso show signs of under rolling. Breheneys advised that the surface had been extensively watered in an attempt to cool thesurface before opening to public but we will need to observe the centre joint as, asper thephotos water is now sitting along the exposed joint on the binder level. It is also my understanding from the pavement detail drawings that all surface course whetherplane and re-lay or full construction should be at a depth of 40mm. on measuring the centre lineof both plane and re-lay areas and some areas of full re-construction the depth of the surfacecourse exceed 40mm as approved in the spec. It was also observed that the surfacing levels along the kerb line leading into Hoddesdon appearsto have some low spots in that may lead to standing water along the kerb line. Some kerbs have been damaged during the surfacing process and Breheneys are aware thatthese will require remedial works to be up to acceptable standard. Breheneys were previously aware of the surfacing issues on my arrival to site. Any queries please give me a call. Thanks

We have received a copy of comments from and discussed yesterday at length with LIH. There is a generalacceptance that the HRA surface course with the area of chip loss on the gyratory will need to be replaced. The current weatherand temperature conditions are unsuitable and in reality the works would have to be delayed until late March or early April. In order to allow the traffic management to be removed in the intervening period would you consider the application of a greycoloured temporary high friction surfacing similar to that in the attached data sheet? This is something that can be carried outprior to Christmas and the hot applied version is not particularly weather sensitive. In addition we can apply the material withinthe current lane closures rather than requiring a road closure. Can you please let me have your thoughts on this option. Regards

verge areas where re surfacing took place (top soil to level).9. LC between RS12 and RS11 service door has fallen off lying on verge.10. Carriageway arrow road markings at RS12 miss-placed by approximately 6m. Messaoud

10396/1200/002 Rev H.12. Re-surfacing required on road islands where kerb replacement took place.13. Repeater sign RS12 to be mounted on 76mm post not illuminated. Post to be coated

with colour to match non-illuminated posts throughout site.14. Damaged tarmac kerbing from road gully inlet at ADS002 where scheme kerbing

terminated to be re-placed. General:

1. Gully cleansing.2. Road sweeping.3. Sign/bollard cleaning as required.4. Re-Marking of white lining as required.5. Resin based kerb repair to any previously identified kerb defects that have been omitted.6. Traffic signals snagging items attached7. Street Lighting will be forwarded once in receipt from Ringway
