Do you know what a turtle is? Using the first section, write a sentence

about what a turtle is.“Turtles are reptiles that look like

Lesson 2:Using the second and third sections, write about your favourite turtle, how big your favourite turtle is and any other features.

“The leatherback sea turtle is the heaviest sea turtle and weighs more

than a small car.” Continue with the fourth section to write

about what your favourite turtle eats.“They are carnivores and mainly eat jellyfish but they will sometimes also

* Lesson 5: Login to MyMaths and complete “Year 1 – Money 1 –OW” * Lesson 6: Using a cuddly toy– can you show me a half-turn / full turn / quarter turn? Where does it end up facing? Does it matter which direction it turns? What is a three-quarter turn? Repeat using jumps. Can you show me a half-turn/ full turn/ quarter turn? Which way would you be facing after a three-quarter turn?

Make an arrow out of card and place it on a paper plate like a clock face. Starting at the 12 o’clock position, what happens to the arrow after a half turn / full turn / quarter turn? Can you show a three-quarter turn? ( Draw quarter lines on the plate if this helps ) Repeat with other shapes or pictures. * Lessons 7 and 8 ( to secure left and right ): Play “Twister,” if you have it at home, to reinforce left and right or “Simon Says”. If unsure of left, with palm facing downwards show how fingers and thumb make an “L” shape. Alternatively, use cones to mark out a route then describe the route somebody else needs to take using the words ‘left’, ‘right’, ‘forwards’ and ‘backwards’. Make a pirate treasure map using the grid on the website page, move counters or lego figures giving instructions / directions for reaching different destinations or complete the “Pirate Paraphernalia” worksheet activity.
