Questions are used to act as a reminder to workers to consider the important reasons to them to stay safe. It about making safety personal and the banners provide a cost effective and flexible method of delivering these messages.The banners can be easily changed and altered in position. Being able to alter the location of the signage allows site to deliver various messages to key locations and enable better message rotation.

Site Audit Report

Further to our site visit please find our initial report and suggestions for signage improvements based on your existing signage throughout the site. The main focus of the audit was to review the haul road, and intersecting roads.

Haul Road

The main access road running North / South allowing all heavy and light vehicle access to the pits, ROM, and general working areas is the main highway that joins all aspects of the site. On exiting the Industrial area onto the haul road the first major decision is North or South? Then following decisions have to be addressed such as pit number, and or contractor / machinery details.

As you can see in Figure 1, the area is extremely busy with various types of signage and also the viewing distance and contrast of the signage is poor. The photo was taken from 10m away and Figure 2 is approximately 60m away.

This document is an overview of all general directional and vehicle signage

for the Company Name.It has been prepared to assist you in making the site a safer and more

user-friendly operating environment. The following information and options

are a guide to improving the following aspects:ü ytilibisiV – All signage needs to be clearly visible both day and night. It clearly seen. The size of the sign is extremely important. Due to the size

of the vehicles and machinery, viewing angles are greatly increased.ü Positioning – Signage must be placed in appropriate areas to allow

drivers and pedestrians to make the necessary decisions that maintain

a safe operating area. Signs must also allow operators of vehicles and machinery ample time to make the appropriate decisions in an unhurried manner.

ü Information – The detail on the signage must be clearly visible. We also recommend it be kept to a minimum to allow it to be read and acted upon.

ü Materialsdetermine to overall ability of the sign to seen and relay the safety or informational message.

ü Vehicles and Machinery – Two major areas of consideration, as both

are operating day and night and in close proximity to each other in an ever changing environment. The effects of dust, fatigue and weather are all important aspects of consideration.ü Flexibility – Signage on site to get contractors and operators to with changeable panels will allow all relevant areas to be accessible.

As machinery and locations change the ability to direct people to these

areas is paramount in maintaining a safe environment.ü Site Signage Manual – The need to maintain standards on site would

be greatly improved by the generation of a site manual which contains Once the

overall standard has been set this is the best way to maintain the standard.

ü Maintenance – As you are aware the harsh environment really does affect the ability for signage to perform at its best. As with any other operating system it needs to be maintained. Cleaning on a regular basis will ensure maximum results.
