I am so glad you have decided to help us screen volunteers! There are several parts to
the process. First, every volunteer must complete an application. Next, the application
is looked over thoroughly by the staff, and finally, promising applicants are brought in for an interview. A manager will then contact their
references to gain more insight into the applicant.
So let’s get started by looking at the applications from a few potential volunteers.

Now that you’ve hired your counselors there is the task of effectively managing them.
This includes defining proper behavior and practices, providing incentives and
accolades for those volunteers who meet and exceed expectations, and unfortunately
providing disciplinary action up to, and including dismissal. In the next section we’ll
explore these areas, and try potential scenarios.
