“The Game”, the 83rd edition of the

Harrison-Rye rivaly became another classic;

to be remembered for years as an incredible

defensive battle. The Huskies held the

highscoring Garnets scoreless through the first

three quarters, but ultimately were defeated

in the final minutes by a score of 8-2 . Husky

senior Jeremy Altamuro was awarded the

annual Christopher Mello Award, given to a

member from each team, in honor of former

Rye High School student-athlete and Garnet

Football captain Chris Mello who was lost in

the “9/11” attack.

Although the Huskies did not qualify for the

Sectional playoffs, they never-the-less closed

out the 2013 season with non-playoff victories

over Byram Hills and Nyack.
