Fuel Retailers
• New SETA Landscape announced by the Minister of DHET in November
2010 for SIC code 63500.
• W&RSETA signed an MOU with MERSETA.
• Arranged a Bulk Transfer from MERSETA to W&RSETA of 3256 Levy
paying companies
• W&RSETA developed a Manual WSP/ATR to accommodate the Fuel
Retailers.
• W&RSETA ISDFs supported Fuel to complete WSP/ATRs – Participation
• increased from 870 to 1070 HET

• The W&RSETA officially took over Fuel Retailers from 1 April 2011
• Levies received R26.9m
• The NQF level 2 National Certificate Service Station Operations qualification was transferred to W&RSETA

a. Discretionary Funding = R 15.5m
b. Mandatory Grants paid out = R 3.6 m
Total made available to Fuel retailers = R19.1 m

Clerical and administrative workers - 227 Community and personal service workers -130 Elementary workers - 866 Machinery operators and drivers - 202 Managers - 610 Professionals - 62 Sales workers - 9559 Technicians and traders workers - 259 Grand Total 11915

Discretionary Grant interventions:
Learnerships – NQF L2 = 170 Unemployed;
Small Business Owner Skills programmes = 150 Employed;
Other Skills programmes = 15 Employed

Conclusion
The SSP research reflects a growth in the forecourt as a result of leading supermarket retailers aligning themselves with petroleum brands.
This implies an increase in the need for skills offering across the retail learning programmes.
