A native of Modesto, he re- ceived his B.S. degree from UC Berkeley, in 1904 and his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1908, when he joined the Johns Hopkins faculty. A former chief of the engi-neering electronics section of the United States Bureau of Standard s, Dr. Brunetti served as a professor at the University of Minnesota, Le-high. George Washington and Stanford Universities.

Prior to his association with FMC in San Jose, he was president and a director of Grand Central Rocket Co. He also served as a director Iof engiaeering research and h development - for General

Dr. Brunetti, a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, received numerous awards from the Army and Navy for exceptional service. He was the author of more than 150 technical publications.

He is survived by his wife, Nona ; a daughter, Marlene Dias: a son, Ronald; a granddaughter. and twn (era, Mrs. Mario Casagrande and Mrs. Steve Barich.

Northwest Airlines Founder ST. PAUL — (UPI)

Croil Hunter, 75, chairman emeritus of the board of North west Airlines, died Tuesday.

Mr. Hunter was president of the airline, which originat-ed in St. Paul, from 1937 to 1952. He served as board chairman until 1965.

Under his management, Northwest was expanded from a local airmail carrier flying less than 400 miles into one of the world's leading airlines.

A native of Fargo, N.D., Mr. Hunter was graduated from Yale University in 1915.

He joined Northwestas general traffic manager in 1932, became vice president and general manager in 1933 and president in 1937.

Mr. Hunter is survived by his widow, Helen; a son, John: and a daughter, Mrs. Jeremiah Milbank Jr.. of New York City.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Thursday) for Dr. Cledo Brunetti, an electronics pioneer whose work ranged from the inven-tion of a two-way wrist radio to the design of huge solid-fuel rockets.

Dr. Brunetti, chief of lung-range ordnance plan-ning for FMC Corporation and a former associate &rec-tor of Stanford Research In-stitute. died Last Saturday in San Jose of an apparent heart attack. He was 61.

During the 1940s, Dr. Bru-netti invented a two-way wrist radio that made a real-ity of the Dick Tracy fiction-al gadget. It could broadcast up to 200 feet.

CIRCUITS

But he was most noted pro-fessionally for his develop-ment of printed electric cir-cuits and his work on radio proximity artillery fuses, an important World War II weapon.

A native of Virginia, Minn., he graduated with highest honors from the University of Minnesota and received his doctorate there in 1937.

Dies at 49 Jessie Kauffmann Hof-

lands, whose family w a s among the founders of the Washington Evening S tar, died yesterday at Stanford University Medical Center after a long illness, She was 49.

Mrs. Hollands, the daugh-ter of Miriam H. Kauffmann of Washington, D.C., and the late Samuel Hay Kauffmann, was born in Albany, N.Y.

Her father was president and later board cbaltrnan of the Star. Mrs. Hollands' brother, John H. Kauffmann, is now president of the news-paper.

Mrs. Hollands was gradu-ated from the Potomac School. in McLean, Va., and the Westover School in Mid-dlebury, Conn. She attended Bryn Mawr College.

A Bay Area resident for 11 years, Mrs. Hollands and her husband, ROckwell Hollands, lived at 1031 Hamilton ave-nue in Palo Alto.

Her husband is manager of public information at Lock-heed Missiles and Space Co. in Sunnyvale.

In addition to her mother, brother and husband, Mrs. Hollands is survived by another brother, Samuel Hay Kauffmann 1-11 of Sunnyvale, and a sister, Joan Kauff-mann Lamphere of Washing-ton, D.C., and by five chil-dren; John Hoskinson of Washington, D.C.; Miriam Wingfield Billings of Jack-sonville, N .C.; and Polly Wingfield Kline, Roberta Wingfield and Walter Rock-well Hollands, all of. Palo Alto.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Palo Alto.
