Safeguarding Children and Addressing Abuse:
The Archdiocese Addresses Victims’ Concerns
The Archdiocese takes very seriously the needs of victims
who approach the Church seeking healing from abuse.
In addition to offering counseling and other support
services, in appropriate cases, the Archdiocese provides
reasonable compensation to those victims seeking a
financial settlement of their civil claim, even after the
statute of limitations has lapsed. Settlements are not
confidential unless requested by the victim, and may
include funding for continued psychological counseling.
The Archdiocese's general liability insurance coverage is
the sole source of funds used to pay abuse settlements.
Although the Archdiocese, parishes and schools pay
premiums to purchase insurance, no parish or school
assets, Archdiocesan assets or Annual Appeal or other
fundraising collections are used to pay civil claims
related to abuse cases.

Soda And Water DonationsThe Festival Committee 2016 will begin
“Soda Sunday...and Saturday Nights too!”
Each weekend beginning June 19th thru July
17th, we're asking parishioners to donate
cases of soda (regular or diet) and water to
help lower our costs for the festival. With
summer here, you're sure to spot great dis-
counts on cases of soda and water at your
local supermarket; so when you do, please
pick 1 up and drop it off in the church vesti-
bule on your way to Mass during any of our
Soda Sundays...and Saturday Nights and
we'll keep them on ice for you until the fes-
tival!
Many thanks in advance for your continued
generosity.

St. Anne's Festival 2016
Better Understanding our Parish FinancesIn an effort to provide a more
comprehensive picture of the
parish's finances the weekly Sun-
day donations chart will be re-
placed by a monthly income and
expenses report. This first report
is by no means exhaustive and
will be tweaked until it provides
as accurate a picture as possible
of the parish's finances.
Regular sources of income for
the parish are the Sunday dona-
tions, twice-weekly Bingo and
rental income from the Charter
School which currently stands at
$29000. per month.
The rental income is sent directly
to the Archdiocese of Newark,
Office of Finance, to continue
paying off debt accrued in the
period between roughly 2007
to 2012, and to help pay the par-
ish's annual property insurance
which currently stands at ap-
proximately $30000. A portion
of the income also goes towards
the upkeep and survival of the
Catholic Schools System in the
Archdiocese of Newark.
Therefore, the rental income
does not pay for any monthly
operating costs and so is not in-
cluded in the current income and
expenditures report.
For the month of May the total
Sunday income was $17,822.. Bin-
go registered a net loss of -2854.
for the same period.
Regular monthly expenses for
the parish include utilities, pay-
roll, health insurance, a monthly
assessment to the Archdiocese
of Newark, and liturgy expenses;
i.e., expenses incurred for the cel-
ebration of mass. Other monthly
expenses, such as telephones,
maintenance contracts etc. will
be factored by next month's re-
port.
The Charter School contributes
$3000. each month for all utili-
ties, hence the -3000.
Payroll includes myself, Ms.
Georgene DeBenedetto, and Mr.
Gerardo Solis and includes pay-
roll taxes for Ms. DeBenedetto
and Mr. Solis; diocesan priests are
considered self-employed by the
IRS and are therefore responsible
for paying our own taxes, such as
Social Security and Medicare.
'Liturgy Expenses' include sti-
pends for Fr. Guillen, Fr. Stump,
Msgr. Miller, Mr. Frabotta, and Mr.
Prowitz.
As mentioned above, this
monthly income and expenses
report will be tweaked as time
goes by to better reflect the par-
ish's finances. Hopefully, this
will prove to be a more effective
tool in helping us all plan our
monthly giving to the parish,
as well as make us more grate-
ful and conscientious stew-
ards of the parish's resources.

St. Anne's Festival Digital Journal Advertisement
St. Anne's Festival 2016 is set to take place on July
22, 23, 24, 2016. For the last 19 years, we have held
an annual 3-day indoor/outdoor Festival honoring
our Patroness, Saint Anne and raising funds for the
parish and community. In an effort to strengthen
and revive our commitment to both parishioners
and the community, we have developed a new
theme for this year's Festival: “Back to the Roots.”
Our goal is to connect and reconnect members of
our community as a whole – both past and present,
old and new.
The festival will include LIVE NIGHTLY ENTER-
TAINMENT, traditional festival foods, games of
chance, a Grand 50/50 drawing and much, much
more! Most importantly, it's an opportunity to
spend a fun-filled summer weekend with family
and friends of our community.
This year, the Festival Committee will be produc-
ing a digital St. Anne's Festival Souvenir Journal;
(physical prints of the journal will be made only
through special request); please attach your ad
material to enclosed form.
The JOURNAL will highlight the different activities
during the celebration and contain advertisements
and well-wishes (a memoriam, living wishes, birth
announcements, congratulatories on graduations,
engagements, weddings, special anniversaries, etc)
to and from many supporters. You may include a
picture for your ad at no additional charge!
The journal pages are 8 1/2” x 11” and are available at
the following rates:
___ Full Page $125.00
___ Half Full Page $ 75.00
___ Quarter Page $ 50.00
___ Special Donors $ 25.00

Silent Night at Centennial Hall
The St. Anne's Festival Committee will be hosting this year's first ever “Silent Disco” event at Centennial Hall.
What is a Silent Disco? A Silent Disco is an event where people dance to music listened to through wireless
headphones. Rather than using a speaker system, music is broadcast via a radio transmitter with the signal
being picked up by wireless headphone receivers worn by the participants. Participants will enjoy the free-
dom of selecting between 3 different DJs, each DJ represented by a specific color allowing participants to
listen to whichever channel they choose.
