We are a not-for-profit organizaon dedicated to raising awareness about Hepas C and B, providing free Hepas screening tests to the public and improving access to costly but curave treatments for Hepas C in Malaysia. WHY ARE WE DOING THIS? Hepas B (HBV) and Hepas C (HCV) are highly prevalent in Malaysia. It is esmated in Malaysia there are about 250,000 adults who are HBV carrier (less in children because of vaccinaon) and another 400,000 people have been infected by HCV. Untreated, HBV and HCV will lead to liver cirrhosis and cancer, which kill 1500 and 1750 people respecvely each year in Malaysia. Recent medical advances have made HBV treatable and HCV curable. SCREENING FOR HEPATITIS C AND B Besides raising awareness about Hepas, HFP is commied to providing FREE screening test to the public. The public screening campaign will be iniated in the Temerloh District of Pahang, and thereaſter in in Kuantan, Bentong, Raub and Jerantut. There are 2 ways to access this FREE Hepas screening service: Walk-in to any parcipang Clinics or Pharmacies near you. Aend any campaign events organized by HFP. TREATMENT FOR HEPATITIS C AND B Despite being treatable or curable, access to HCV and HBV treatments are limited in Malaysia. HFP is therefore commied to assisng people who are found to have Hepas through our campaign to receive the medical treatments they need: HFP will help eligible paents to obtain reimbursement from the relevant payers such as SOCSO, JPA, private health insurance and EPF Account 2. HFP will help finance the Hepas C treatments of those who are truly poor HFP will also advocate for posive changes to our health policies (third party financing, drug procurement & pricing, etc) to improve everyone’s access to the treatments they need. HOW CAN YOU HELP? HFP relies on volunteers to contribute their me and efforts; and for doctors and pharmacists, to help conduct screening and treat paents.
