But for new parents, making these lifestyle changes for both you and your child can be a challenge. To help, the Community Sports Foundation has launched a new health programme, aimed specifically for families in Norfolk. Going by the name of HENRY (Health Exercise Nutrition for the Really Young), it is a healthy lifestyle programme for parents with young children, aged between two and four years of age. Working with both parents and their children, the free eight-week course comprises of nutrition workshops and physical activity sessions. HENRY will enable parents to: • Discover new practical parenting skills • Increase their child’s self-esteem and emotional wellbeing, so they are ready to start school • Learn tips about how to get the whole family active Tessa Beecroft, CSF Health Development Officer said: “We’re really pleased to be able to launch the HENRY programme. ”New Year is a fantastic time to make positive, lifestyle changes. The HENRY programme is a fun, engaging and informative course and we can’t wait to start working with local parents and their children.” Sessions run by the Community Sports Foundation are available in Norwich and North Walsham and start on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. CSF held the first ever Futsal Winter Cup for youth teams on Saturday, December 20. A total of 25 local teams turned out for the festivities at the UEA Sportspark. With samba music ringing out across the pitches, players and parents enjoyed a carnival atmosphere and some really entertaining games. The winning teams were Wymondham Town (under-8s), Morley Village Youth (under-9s), Taverham (under-10s) and Costessey Sports Club (under-11s). Festival of futsal at CSF Winter Cup City youth players Joe Crowe, Todd Cantwell, Jamal Lewis and Louis Ramsay were on hand to present the teams with their winners’ medals
