Henley became the first school in the state of Virginia to install the 3 different types of renewable energy systems listed below: 1) Grid Tied Photovoltaic System: This roof mounted system can generate up to 42 kilowatts or enough power to completely supply five homes. 2) Grid Tied Wind Turbine System: This ground mounted tower sits 52 feet tall and can generate up to 2.4 kilowatts . 3) Solar Hot Water Heating System: This roof mounted system supplements the existing hot water system with 45 MBH of hot water. These systems were funded by a grant from the U.S. government and include a web enabled Dashboard monitoring system located a the front of the school to display real time data.
