h him, Ronald Andries W/M/19 also of 4338 Newton said i t was a gun shot . Kirkted t ha t he then ran out back and climbed the back f•nce and saw a man get t ingo a 1949 or 1950 Ford, Lt. Green or Lt. blue and take off . This wae on the

lo t of the Church next to General Walker's home. Also on fur ther down th olo t was another car , unknown make or model and a man was in it. He had tho

l i gh t on and Kirk could see him bend over the front seat as i f he was putt ingin the back ! l o o r b ~ a r d . The only descr i ption Kirk could give on thio car

MOORE was to ld t ha t a t approximately noon yesterday,we received a note in Russian which bad been t rans la ted bya Secret Service representa t ive and tha t th i s note wasdic ta ted to Mrs. HENLEY, Secretary in Mr. BELMONT's of f i ce . ~MOORE advised qa · did not see any memorandum concerning t h i s ,but would make arrangements to get a copy.

I advised MOORE tha t a t some t ime between 3:30 and5:00 PM yesterday, a memorandum was dictated to a secre ta ryin General Invest igat ive Division, which was prepared fromROSEN to BELMONT, convering information obtained from Mrs.OSWALD wherein she s ta ted tha t she had been shown th i s noteby Secret Service and had said tha t it was a note which shehad retained in her possession t ha t her husband had preparedsometime l a s t April arld t ha t th is memorandum covered in somede ta i l the fact tha t Mrs. OSWALD was aware tha t her husbandhad shot a t General WALKER on the night of April lOth fo r thepurpose of trying to k i l l him and missed.

MOORE was also advised t ha t the r i f l e slug found a tGeneral WALKER's residence had been submitted to the BureauLaboratory for examination on Dec. 3rd .

He was also ·advised tha t the Dallas Police Department sta ted t ha t they had

been considering turning the slug over for examination inasmuchas they f e l t tha t there was some poss ibi l i ty tha t ·OSWALD might haveshot a t General WALKER.

Specimen Ql88 was f ired from a barre l r i f l ed withfour lands and grooves, r ight twis t . Mannlicher-Carcanor i f l e s of the type used in the assassinat ion of Pres identKennedy (described as specimen Kl in Laboratory reportPC-78243 BX) are among those which produce general r i f l ingimpressions such as were found on specimen Ql88.

Because of the·extreme mutilat ion and dis tor t ionof Ql88 and because the individual microscopic marks l e f ton bul le t s by the barrel of the Kl r i f l e could have changedsubsequent to the time Ql88 was f i red , it was not possible to

determine whether or not Ql88 was f i red from Kl.

There are no specimens present ly being maintainedin the National Unident ified Ammunition File which could havebeen f i red from the Kl r i f l e or which logical ly should becompared with Ql88. Further, no bul le ts or r i f l e s whichlogical ly should be compared with specimen Ql88 have come tothe at tent ion of the FBI Laboratory since March, 1963.

The copper jacket and the lead core of the Ql88bul le t were determined to be s l ight ly different in compositionsfrom the copper jackets and lead cores of the Ql and Q2bul le t s .

Although the differences in composition between theQl88 and the Ql and Q2 bul le t s were ·small and do not indicatethat these bul le ts represent two di f ferent types of bul le t s ,i t was not possible to determine i f these bul le t s came fromthe same box. I t i s to be noted t ha t there i s no assurancein the fabricat ion of ammunition t ha t a l l the ammunition endingup in one box possesses bul le t s from the same batch of metal,tha t is , with the same composition.

The bul le t , Ql88, i s being temporarily re ta ined inthe Laboratory fo r comparison with any addi t ional bul l e t s

which may be received.
