Summer Project Task 1: ‘Create your own font’ 1. You are to create an account with ‘Calligraphr’ https://www.calligraphr.com/en/ using your own email address and password as this is your own font. 2. You are to download the ‘Minimal English Font’, which consists of 60 characters and either print out this out and Illustrate your font onto the template or alternatively for the digital illustrators do this Photoshop/illustrator or any other associated program. 3. Ensure that you complete all the fonts characters in both upper and lowercase as well as all the required punctuation. 4. You can now choose to create the font yourself using the instructions on the website.

Task 2: ‘Design a character’ 1.Go to piskelapp.com and sign up to the site. It’s free and web based. 2. You need to create a HERO, and a VILLAIN and ONE of other characters. Before you start designing, complete a character profile sheet for each of your characters. This will help ’flesh’ out your character and help with the design process. You should create them on a 32 x 32 pixel canvas (this is the default size). You will find the tools obvious and simple to use. Extension: Creating a static character is great but push yourself! See if you can duplicate and add some frames and start developing some simple animations or movements to your characters. Have a go - see what you can create. 3. You will find an export option on the right hand side of the page. If you can export your characters as either a PNG or a GIF (if you got animations sorted - use this file type)

If you require any support with this project please contact the subject lead who will be able to offer you guidance.
