Schneider’s Jewelers is a family business, passed down over three generations, that offers the town of Kingston, NY, a jewelry oasis with a broad variety of jewels, watches, and unique gifts. They also offer services like repairs, appraisals, bridal registry, and gift wrapping. In recent years the store expanded by consolidating two stores into one, making an energy efficient upgrade necessary for maximizing profits.

Schneider’s decided to utilize Lime Energy and program partner Central Hudson to upgrade to interior LEDs and T8 lighting. Following the upgrade, shop manager Thomas Jacobi saw immediate benefits. “These upgrades reduced maintenance and made workspace more usable,” said Jacobi. “The entire project went very smooth. Never interrupted business.” Schneider’s Jewelers is now saving over $3,000 annually and is using 61.8% less energy to light the business.
