THE CHILD’S BRAIN IS LIKE THE INTERNET

To understand how the brain works we compare it to the most advanced invention of the day – THE INTERNET

This comparison is explored in this clip – highlighting that both are;•In the early stages of development•Rapidly growing and;•Always changing

“A child’s Brain has more connections than the whole of the internet”

These connections are built through every interaction – first five years are the most crucial (4:29minutes)

EVERY INTERACTION COUNTS!At VIP Childcare we strive to research and implement new and innovative ways to create these connections with our children –

Our Recent Projects;

Baby Slings Inward Facing Buggies

• To further develop and ensure and the closeness and attachment between our babies and practitioners both in and outdoors we have researched into the traditional idea of baby wearing through Slings.

• VIP Childcare has worked in partnership with the Moray Sling Library to gain an insight to the practicalities of slings within nursery.

INWARD FACING BUGGIES• We strive to maximise our time with the children and feel that if we

can connect more with our youngest children even whilst ‘transporting’ them to an outdoor location.

• In connection with the work of Dr Suzanne Zeedyk (former Psychology lecturer at Dundee University) we have identified the need to update the way in which we transport our youngest children in the outdoor environment – from outward facing buggies to inward.

• Currently, research on baby brain development and neuroscience is indicating the major benefits in children’s developmental areas such as language, communication, and emotional security simply by the way we transport our children.
