Hello Brothers and Sisters:
I would like to say congratulation to our new Commander Tim McNulty. I would also like to
thank our State Commander for installing our elected officers. It was a wonderful night and
thank you to the post for the kind gifts they gave me.
I would like to say one thing as your past Commander, it has been hard to be recognizing a post
with only the same people showing up to do the work at building the Memorial Day floats, sup-
porting the post bingo, at recruiting location and at fundraising events. So, I give one last thank
you to those (who know who you are) for all your help. Thank you, Dan Saville, for And thank
you to Cindy Roberts for mowing the lawn
The Jr Vice Commander Harold "Hal" Roesch of National visited our post with State Command-
er Ritigliano while Commander elect Tim McNulty, I and Becky Sweet were working on the float.
He saw the Veterans Group vegetable garden, toured the post, and asked to have pictures of the
float sent to him. State Commander Ritigliano gave high praise for all the work that has been
done over the past 6 years.
The post again participated in the Memorial Day parade. We had members of the Veteran sup-
port group and Kevin "Elvis" and Renee Harder walking with us and passing out flags. The
weather was perfect, and the turnout of spectators was amazing, Salutes, hand on hearts, and
clapping were given as our float moved down the route. We then went to the Glens Falls Center
and participated in a Flag and POW-MIA ceremony, speeches and a picnic with the Veterans and
residents of the center. Thank you, Fran, Veterans support at the center, Cindy Roberts and Sgt
Coon. See pictures on the back pages.
Thank you to Lillian Wood for all her endless energy in supporting all the things I got her in-
volved in. Her 50 years as Auxiliary was a well of knowledge in meeting people and her running
the bar taught me about the working of the post and its visitors. She is my unsung Hero.
Speaking of the bar. On July 1st. drink prices will be raised a small amount to offset the cost in-
crease from our supplier. Bartender positions are still open for those interested.
In closing I want to say Thank You for your support, and I hope you give Commander Tim
McNulty that same support.
Thank You.
God Bless our Troops.
Commander Gary Kaiser
Auxiliary President’s Message
The Love for Our Veterans is
More Precious than Gold
Dear Comrades & Sisters- Hello Everyone, As I sit here this evening writing this the last newsletter for the Auxiliary year the weather couldn't be more beautiful. The weather has been so wishy washy, and it’s about time that summer has appeared. The weather was perfect for the parade. The Commander and his assistant Becky have again put together another float for us to ride in the parade. Thank you to both for all the hard work you put into it and anyone else that might have helped. At our May meeting State Commander Gene Ritigliano installed our officers for the upcoming year 2019-2020. I want to congratulate them all. I am once again President. We have a lot of things we are excited about for the upcoming year and we have a solid group of people that are willing to execute them. We have a great auxiliary and I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of it! I am excited to be working with our new incoming commander Tim McNulty. A Big Congratulations to him and all the new post officers! In closing, I'd like to thank each of my members for making this year a huge success! And cannot wait to see what we can accomplish in the upcoming year. This has been a great year for me and I can only hope the new year brings only better things to come. We have done many good things this year for our Veterans, our post and our community and with your help we can continue to do more. Hope to see you at our next meeting on June 17th at 6:00 p.m.. We have built a solid membership and a cohesive working environment and hope to continue that and grow. Please keep those serving aboard in your prayers and bring them all home to us God Bless our Troops and God Bless America! Loyally yours,
Kelli Anne Kennedy, President

VA maternity care coordinators help women Veterans navigate health care services
Women Veterans deserve and expect high-quality health care to address their needs, and in some cases their needs in-clude deciding when motherhood is right for them. Whether women Veterans are looking to start a family or to prevent pregnancy, VA can help.
Additional services covered under the maternity care benefit include: newborn care for up to seven days, lactation ser-vices and products (consultation services, breast pumps and supplies), nursing bras, postpartum screenings and support groups. Maternity care coordinators are available at every VA medical center.
Women Veterans should speak with their provider or contact the Women Veterans Call Center to find their nearest Ma-ternity Care Coordinator. The Women Veterans Call Center is available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET and Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. ET by calling 1-855-829-6636 or chat online at www.womenshealth.va.gov
Disabled Veterans eligible for free National Park Service Lifetime Access Pass ~ good for entry into 400+ National Parks and over 2,000 recreation sites across the country
Spring flowers are blooming, the summer travel season quickly approaches and Veterans are joining the 330- million year-ly visitors enjoying U.S. National Parks.
Many Veterans, with a service connected disability rating, are entering Federal parks for free with the Lifetime National Parks Access Pass from the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service. Good for entry into 400+ National Parks and over 2,000 recreation sites across the country, the Lifetime Access Pass is another way a grateful nation says thank you for the service and sacrifices of Veterans with disabilities.
The Access Pass admits disabled Veterans and any passengers in their vehicle (non-commercial) at per-vehicle fee areas; and, the pass owner plus three additional adults where per-person fees are charged. In addition to free entry at participat-ing parks, the Access Pass includes discounts on expanded amenity fees; such as camping, swimming, boat launching and guided tours.
Veterans who have a VA disability rating, (10 percent or higher) are eligible for the Lifetime Access Pass—with two ways to apply:
First, disabled Veterans can apply in person at a participating federal recreation site. Simply present photo identification (Drivers license, State ID, Passport) and documentation proving a permanent disability (VA awards letter, VA ID with service connected annotation, VA summary of benefits, or receipt of Social Security disability income). That’s It. The Pass is free and issued at the time of entry.
Second, if applying by mail, send a completed packet and $10 processing fee to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The packet should include:
· The Access Pass application form
· Proof of residency
· VA disability award letter, VA summary of benefits, or proof of SSDI income
Pass delivery expected 10-12 weeks after receipt. Make sure to have photo ID available when using your Lifetime Access
Pass and enjoy the majestic scenery and abundant recreational opportunities our National Parks provide.
