THE COMPANY
MacTaggart Scott is a privately owned Scottish engineering company founded in 1898. For more than 100 years MacTaggart Scott has been providing cost effective solutions to challenging engineering problems.
SATS
SATS is the electrically powered version of the globally respected MacTaggart Scott TRIGONTM Helicopter Handling System. It uses three widely separated flexible stainless steel ropes on electric winches attached to the landing gear, creating a very secure 3-point star attachment to the aircraft.
SATS consists of three servo winches, with associated servo drive units, and a control system that uses the extensively proven control philosophy used in the hydraulic controlled TRIGON handling system.
Continuously monitoring and adjusting the speed of the winch motors, providing haul and tensioning and a very high speed of response, the system assures ultimate protection of the airframe and safety of personnel during the traversing evolution.
SATS has been designed and tested to meet all relevant operating requirements and standards for warship aircraft traversing systems.
