SUPPORT GROUPS Multiple Myeloma Patient and Family Support Group patients and families can share resources and receive support. Meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month. HFGCC Small Conference Room. Spiritual Wellness Group offers an opportunity to receive spiritual support and explore issues such as faith, meaning, purpose and doubt. Meets on 1st and 3rd Thursdays. Living with Thyroid Cancer support group is for those who have experienced thyroid cancer, family members and friends. Contact Sharon Ruth, group facilitator, at 302-454-1987 for info. Laryngectomy Support Group Call Janet Sechrist, speech pathologist (302)623-4026 for more information. PROGRAM INFORMATION Community Services Day: Meet with representatives from area agencies helping patients with cancer and explore the many resources available in the community. HFGCC West Lobby Financial Literacy Project: Meet with a volunteer advisor to assist you in topics such as budgets, taxes, financial strategies, credit options, investing and insurance. Meet Your Lung Cancer Team: provides an opportunity for patients and families to be introduced to their care management team and to learn about resources before and after treatment. Call 623-4717 to register. “Look Good…Feel Better” Program: Trained volunteers help women cope with the skin changes and hair loss often experienced during cancer treatment. Program sponsored by ACS, PCPC Foundation and NCA. Scrapbooking: For anyone diagnosed with cancer, their family, friends or staff. There is no fee for those diagnosed with cancer. For all others, there is a $5.00 fee. HFGCC Small Conference Room. Beginning your Breast Cancer Journey: Understand your newly diagnosed breast cancer and learn about resources available. Call Kathy at 778-1102 ext. 13 to register. HFGCC Small Conference Room. Meditation Practice: Join us as we lean about, practice and try different types of meditation. Writing for Well-Being: Writing offers a powerful avenue to self-discovery, personal growth and overall well-being. Join us to learn easy and interesting ways to write for well-being. Face to Face-Smoking Cessation Counselors available on TUESDAYS through the Community Health Outreach and Education program- available by appointment- 623-CARE. 3 free counseling sessions to assist you with going SMOKE FREE in 2010. Inner Art Come experiment with painting. For anyone diagnosed with cancer, their family, or friends. There is no fee for those diagnosed with cancer. For all others, there is a $5.00 fee. Mindful Eating A 6-week series held on Thursdays from 6:00-8:00pm. starting April 15th. For patients, family, friends, or staff.
