From the Board

Greetings from your Board,

Sally and I, along with many of the board members and their spouses, started our Christmas Season by attending the Christmas Celebration at Heit’s Point. It was a time for fellowship with many familiar faces and new faces. The highlight of the afternoon was the unique program “The Gospel of Christmas in Word and Song” per-formed by Karen Engebretson. I want to thank fellow Board member, Joyce Martin, for making these arrangements.

Due to an overwhelming response, watch for announcements (in your area) of Karen’s future performances titled, “The Gospel According to Broadway”, benefiting Heit’s Point. If you are interested in supporting Heit’s Point by hosting one of these events or for more information about it, contact Joyce Martin, 816-350-1773 or email [email protected]

A new thing this year, at the celebration, was a “giving tree”. On the tree were tags with different ways you could help Heit’s Point. Thank you to everyone that took a tag; your support is appreciated. And last but not least, a big thank you goes to the staff for the beautiful decorations and delicious meal.

Here are a few notes from the Nov. 18, 2015 Board meeting. The following items were approved: the 2016 budget, the Business Plan and Three Year Master Plan. Also, there were some Policy changes made and Manual updates. The Board enjoyed hosting the Annual Staff Appreciation Social that evening. Thanks to Joyce and Sally for planning and preparing the many hors d’oeuvres. I am happy that most of the staff and their families were able to attend and the even-ing was enjoyed by everyone.

May the light of God’s glorious love shine brightly in your hearts this Christmas

and in the New Year.

Blessings from your Chairman,

Bob Vieth

“The Joy of Service” Everyone should want to serve on the board. You get to work in God’s

beautiful creation and all who come get blessed by Him. Is this a job or a blessing? Watching a young child learn about Christ, witnessing baptism in the Outdoor chapel, hearing friendships made that last for years. The blessings are always flowing at Heit’s Point, plenty for you as well. How many hours a year do you spend in front of the television? How many hours play-ing golf? How many shopping for things you don’t need? Do you have 60 hours a year that you could use some blessings? Everyone is so busy. Maybe it’s time to trade in those 60 hours for 60 hours of blessings. This year we needed 5 special people to begin service on the Heit’s Point Board. Everyone contacted was busy, not just busy to be busy, but serving in other important func-tions. So, this year the election process for board members was a foregone conclusion before it started. The board members that agreed to serve another term were reelected but two positions were left open with no one to take advantage of these opportunities of blessings. Over this next year, please think about the blessings that you could experience getting involved at Heit’s Point. The Heit’s Point Board meets 6 times a year. Everyone has talents that are a gift from God, your talents could increase the blessings that are possible through God’s Ministry at Heit’s Point. Contact Mark at 660-668-2363 if interested in serving.

Heit’s Point’s Mission How do we do this?

Our Mission statement is: “Strengthening the Connection with the Vine”

Maintain a Ministry Focus. Programs grounded in the Word of God.

Our Vi-sion Statement is: “Heit’s Pointwill be a premier and Christ-centered refuge where a person’s relationship with Jesus Christ is built, strengthened, and encouraged.”

Programs that introduce Christ to the lost or tested. Devotions, Bible Studies, and Fellowship for strength and encouragement. Respite for those servants that need to rejuvenate to return to their Ministry.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his under-standing. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:28-31
