Energy Transfer Convection Lab Materials Needed 1 square of aluminum foil 1 rubber band 1 small baby food jar ml beaker 1 sharpened pencil Hot water to fill the baby food jar Cold water to fill beaker over the baby food jar Food coloring Procedure 1. Gather materials 2. Place 4 drops of yellow food coloring in the baby food jar. 3. Place 4 drops of blue food coloring in the beaker. 4. Come to the teacher and get your hot water for your baby food jar. 5. Place the square of aluminum foil over the top of the baby food jar and secure it with the rubber band. 6. Place the baby food jar inside the beaker and add enough cold water to cover the baby food jar with at least 2 inches of water. Baby food jar with yellow hot water 600 ml beaker with blue cold water 7. Use your sharpened pencil to punch a small hole in the foil at the 3 oclock position. 8. Make observations. 9. Punch another hole in the foil at the 9 oclock position. 10. Make observations.
