Change for Life

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is January 18th. Baby bottles will be distributed during the morning service at area churches. If you would like your church included please contact Amanda at (575)513-1826. Bottles will be collected 4 weeks later on February 8th.

Week long Training

Our Board, staff and volunteers will have mandatory training beginning on the evening of January 19th and continuing the remainder of the week with the exception of Wednesday evening. Saturday’s we will have all day training for Board and staff. Volunteers are only required to attend on Saturday morning. Please contact Amanda for more information.

Benefit Concert

PHCA will host Christian recording artist, John Waller, on Saturday January 31st. The FREE concert will be held at First Baptist Church-Artesia @6 PM and everyone is invited. A love offering will be taken to benefit both Pregnancy Help Center of Artesia and Lifeline Children’s Services (an adoption agency opening in Artesia soon). John Waller is the father of 9 children, 3 of whom are adopted. Please visit johnwalleronline.com

Needs of the Center ……………………………………………………………………………….……..… Just as I finished last month’s newsletter, it had to be updated. In the newsletter I had expressed the need for a washer and dryer to be able to launder clothing donations for our baby boutique. All that was required from me was making the need known and the generous people of Artesia filled that need! Praise God! Thank you to the Leonard Adult Sunday School Class at First Baptist.

Other notable donations we have received over the last month include:

*Donations to furnish both of our counseling rooms. Thank you KC Light Towers and Darin Chandler!

*A large donation of used baby items from Living Well Nazarene Church. Thank you!

*A cash donation that will be used exclusively for client supplies, curriculum, etc. Thank you Judah Oil - Blaise and Dixi Campanella!

We have other current needs for our staff and volunteers. The Center has a wonderful kitchen that we would like to utilize. This will help us remain open during the lunch hour to better serve our clients. Following are some items that would be very useful: crock pot, cooking utensils, knife set, cutting board, paper goods (cups, plates, bowls, knives, spoons, forks, ziplock bags all sizes) colander, skillet set, sauce pans, microwave safe containers, pot holders (our kitchen counters are blue green) and a can opener.

Anything else you think we could use, we probably can! Please drop donations off at 610 W. Quay Ave. Thank you!

Target Opening Date

Monday February 9th is fast approaching. All of our training will be complete, the Center will be furnished and volunteers will be in place. Before we open our doors, however, we want to have an Open House for all of you. The event will be held at 2 o’clock on Sunday afternoon February 8th. The PHCA is located at 610 W. Quay. This will be an excellent time to come see the amazing progress that has been made with your help. Postcard invitations will go out to everyone on our mailing list. There will also be an announcement in the Around Town section of the Artesia Daily Press. !

Newsletter!This is the third issue of our monthly newsletter. If you have provided an email address, your newsletter is being emailed to you. If you only provided a mailing address, your newsletter is being mailed. Are you receiving your newsletter? Emailing the newsletter saves postage, so if you are receiving the newsletter by mail and would rather have it by email, please contact at phcartesia@gmail.com. You can expect your newsletter around the end of the month to the first week of the next. !!Prayer Requests!To date Amanda has seen 2 clients. Both clients had positive pregnancy tests. God knows the details, but please remember them in your prayers. Also, please lift our staff, volunteers, Board and future clients to the Lord. We have been working diligently on this project for 21 months and are very close to realizing our goal. God has provided so greatly and we know He will continue to do so as you partner with us in prayer.
