Alexandra Jamieson

Holistic health counselor and chef Alexandra Jamieson is dedicated to creating transformational conversations about health, lifestyle, and diet.

Jamieson appears prominently in the blockbuster film Super Size Me. The documentary is a tongue-in-cheek—and burger in hand—look at the legal, financial, and physical costs of America’s hunger for fast food. Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock puts his own body on the line, chowing down a grueling 30-day, drive-through-only diet…with radical results.

AuthorIn 2005, Jamieson authored The Great American Detox Diet: 8 Weeks to Weight Loss and Well-Being. The book, which was a follow-up to Super Size Me, is an everyman’s version of Spurlock’s own detox diet designed by Jamieson to return him to health.

Holistic Health CounselorA graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, she is a certified holistic health counselor, accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Working with clients all over the country, Jamieson provides dietary and lifestyle counseling to help overcome health concerns from weight loss and lowering cholesterol to sleep disorders, skin problems, women’s health issues, sugar and caffeine addiction, and detox diets.

As a speaker in New York City, Jamieson has offered such lectures and workshops as “Eating for Energy,” “Sugar Blues,” and “Women’s Winter Wellness.” All talks are given in an interactive format, allowing participants to really get involved in the

conversation to transform their views and learn from others.

Professional ChefAfter graduating from New York City’s Natural Gourmet Cookery School in 2000, Jamieson began cooking professionally in Milan, Italy. Working under Chef Mohamed Tourkey, Jamieson expanded her skills in creating regional, vegan, macrobiotic, and seasonal organic menus.

Returning to New York City in 2001, Jamieson worked as the pastry chef at Other Foods, one of New York City’s finest organic restaurants. She was pleased to create decadent pastries while working within the restaurant’s guidelines of using vegan, organic, and seasonal ingredients.

As the vegetarian chef at Paul Newman’s Hole In The Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, Connecticut, Jamieson spent 2002 offering up healthy, fun foods for the staff, volunteers, and kids who attended this camp for children with life-threatening illnesses.

TeacherSince 2002, Alexandra Jamieson has worked as a personal chef in New York City. Working with clients who have been diagnosed with cancer, diabetes, food allergies, fertility concerns, asthma, and chronic fatigue syndrome, she has provided nutritional and lifestyle counseling and support in a fun and empowering way. As a volunteer for Just Food, a non-profit food education organization, and The Vegetable of the Month Club, Chef Jamieson teaches cooking classes for seniors, students, and low-income residents.
