Health Control Section

Health Control Section is responsible of inspecting

different types of health and health related premises

and labor camps to ensure commitment to the

approved health requirements in the Emirate of

Dubai, and take necessary actions against violators

of the legislation.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS


Health requirements

• Occupational Health Cards from DM

Clinic and Community Health .

• Light colored uniforms (dark colored

for hair coloring).

• Personal hygiene of staff.

• Hand washing after each customer.


Health requirements

• Avoid dealing with skin

problems in customers.

• Males are not allowed to work

in Ladies Salons (allowed in

four stars hotels and above).

• All Staff must be trained.


• Sufficient number of towels

and aprons (not less than 12 of

each for one dressing chair)

• Sufficient number of hair and

personal care tools that are

made of non-rust materials,

free of cracks and sediment

and to be of high quality

materials (disposable tools are

preferred).

• Disposable wooden sticks must be

used for waxing, and it is not allowed

to double dip the stick in the waxing

container or use it for other

customers.

• Not allowed to re-immerse hands and

feet in paraffin wax.

Service Rooms requirements

• Rooms must not be less than 2 x 3

meter with fitted walls (no curtains,

accordion or temporary partitions)

• Hand wash basins must be

provided in Hair cutting lounge &

Facial rooms .


General cleanliness

• Highly standards of cleaning for all

salon facilities shall be taken at night &

during the working day .

• Approved disinfectants shall be

provided for high standards of cleaning .

• Wash cleaning items after use and leave

it to dry and replace it periodically .


sterilization

• Disinfectant solution must be provided.

• UV light sterilizing machine must be

provided for hair tools (1 for each 3

chairs) and maintained clean.

• Heat sterilizing devices (dry heat or

steam) must be provided in the salon,

especially for metal tools used for

cosmetics and personal care.

• Not allowed to re-use brushes among

customers unless washed and

sterilized properly.


Cleaning and sterilizing

• Shaving Tools shall be cleaned

properly after each use .

• Shaving Tools shall be sanitized by

using spray type sanitizer directly

after cleaning .


Disposable Tools

• Disposable Nail & Foot Files shall be

provided .

• Disposable make-up sponges shall

be provided .

• Disposable mascara applicators shall

be provided .

• Disposable Eye shadow applicators

shall be provided .

• Disposable Eyebrow brushes shall be

provided .

• Disposable Lipstick Applicator shall

be provided .

• Disposable Moroccan Bath loufas

shall be provided .


Not Allowed

• Not allowed to use hair removal machines

such as laser in salons and beauty

centers. Other machines must be

permitted by Dubai Health Authority and

the staff must obtain DHA license from.

• Ear and body piercing

• Teeth whitening

• Tattoos & removal of tattoos


• Semi-permanent makeup activity is not allowed in all

salons and beauty centers unless following all health

requirements for this activity and obtaining the

necessary permit from Health Control Section at

Dubai Municipality.

• Chin brush using are not allowed

• Foam & gel must be used only

• Not allowed to residing , cooking or personal use of work site .

• Not allowed to smoking , chewing ban inside salon .

• Not allowed to using Alum stone for Sterilization of wounds.

• Pets & Birds does not allow to be inside salon.

• Not allowed to using Gas Cylinders inside salon .

Not Allowed


• Not allowed to provide the tanning service for those under the

age of 18 years.

• Must comply with the allowable period for nailing according to

manufacturer's instructions.

• Provide adequate space to serve the tanning and the use of

protective eyewear and follow the safety conditions mentioned

on the device.
