HEALTH PLAN ASSISTANCE FOR ENROLLEES IMPACTED BY NATURAL DISASTERS If you’ve been negatively impacted or displaced by Natural Disasters, including earthquakes, wildÿres, and °ooding, your health plan is required to help. WHAT THE DMHC IS DOING TO HELP The California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) requires California health plans to help victims of Natural Disasters, including earthquakes, wildÿres and °ooding, who are experiencing problems obtaining health care services. This could include speeding up approvals for care, replacing lost prescriptions and ID cards, or quickly arranging health care at other facilities if a hospital or doctor’s o˛ce is not available due to the disaster. IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE, CALL THE DMHC HELP CENTER AT: 1˜888˜466˜2219 HEALTH PLAN REQUIREMENTS Health plans must ensure enrollees displaced by natural disasters continue to have appropriate access to medically necessary health care services. This may require plans to, among other things: Relax time limits for prior authorization, pre-certiÿcation, or referrals. Suspend prescription reÿll limitations and permit impacted enrollees to reÿll their prescriptions at out-of-network pharmacies. Allow enrollees to replace medical equipment or supplies. Extend ÿling deadlines for claims. Allow enrollees to access appropriate out-of-network providers if in-network providers are unavailable due to the disaster or if enrollees are out of the area due to displacement from the ÿres. Have a toll-free number for a˝ected enrollees to call for answers to questions, including questions about the loss of health insurance ID cards, access to prescription reÿlls, or how to access health care. You should ÿrst contact your health plans for assistance, but if you have problems obtaining services or assistance from your health plan, you can also contact the Department of Managed Health Care’s Help Center at 1-888-466-2219, or at www.HealthHelp.ca.gov. ASISTENCIA DE PLAN DE SALUD PARA MIEMBROS IMPATADOS POR DESASTRES NATURALES

Si ha sido negativamente impactado o desplazado por los desastres naturales, incluyendo terremotos, incendios forestales, y inundaciones, su plan de salud es requerido a ayudarte.

COMO ESTA AYUDANDO EL DMHC El Department of Managed Health Care de California requiere a los planes de salud que ayudan los victimas de desastres naturales, incluyendo terremotos, incendios forestales, e inundaciones, que tienen problemas obteniendo servicios de atención médica. Esto puede incluir acelerando el proceso de autorización por cuidado, reemplazar medicamento recetados y tarjetas de identiÿcación, o ordenar rápidamente atención medica en otro lugar si un hospital o oÿcina de doctor no estand disponibles debido al desastre.

REQUERIDO DEL PLAN DE SALUD Planes de salud deben de asegurar que miembros desplazados por desastres naturales continúan de tener acceso a servicios de atención medica que es medicamente necesario.

Esto puede requerir que planes de salud también:

• Relajan limites de tiempo para autorización avanzada, certiÿcación avanzada y referir en avance.

• Suspender limitaciones de llenar recetas y permitir miembros impactados a llenar recetas en farmacias fuera de la red.

• Permitir miembros reemplazar equipo y suministros médicos.

• Extender el limito de tiempo de someter reclamos.

• Permitir que miembros tienen acceso a proveedores fuera de la red si proveedores dentro de la red no están disponible debido al desastre o si el miembro esta fuera de su área debido a desplazamiento.

• Tener una línea de teléfono gratis para miembros afectados para contestar preguntas, incluyendo preguntas sobre perder su carta de identiÿcación de plan de salud, acceso a llenar recetas de medicamento, y como obtener cuidado de salud.

Debes de comunicarte con su plan de salud primero, y si tienes problema con obtener servicios o asistencia de su plan de salud, puedes comuni-carte con el Centro de Ayuda del Department of Managed Health Care al 1-888-466-2219, o al www.HealthHelp.ca.gov.
