A referral system can be defined as a comprehensive institutional framework that connects various entities with well-defined and delineated mandates, responsibilities and powers into a network of cooperation, with the overall aim of ensuring the protection and assistance of survivors, to aid in their full recovery and empowerment.

provide an integrated quantity health care service that is affordable, accessible and enhanced by powered, committed and capable health worker in active collaboration with other sectors of the community.

SECONDARY REFERRAL HEALTH CARE

Taft District Hospital

MISSION:Taft District Hospital is committed to

provide secondary health services to the people of Taft and its nearby municipalities thereby promoting better health for the community through competent, caring and compassionate care providers.

It serves as the core referral hospital of the Taft Inter-local Health Zone (ILHZ) rendering medical service to the people of the municipalities of Taft, Sulat, Can-avid & Dolores.

The medical officers are capable of handling general cases of OB-Gyne, Surgery, Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. The Nursing Staff is trained and skilled to render emergency cases in all four major departments.

The Laboratory offers procedures for basic routine microscopy and hematology. Emergency and essential medicines are available at the Hospital Pharmacy. Simple X-ray tests are likewise available.

TERTIARY REFERRAL HEALTH CARE - is a hospital that provides tertiary

care, which is health care from specialists in a large hospital after referral from primary care and secondary care.

Eastern Samar Provincial Hospital is a tertiary government hospital serving the health needs of the people of Eastern Samar.
