If you plan to reuse a car seat, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) offers the following safety tips: Seat age. Look for the manufacture date on the seat label. Check the car seat company's website to find out how many years that model can be used. Do not use a seat if you do not know its age or model name. Wear and tear. Don't use a seat with visible cracks. Parts and instructions. Don't use a seat that is missing parts or instructions. The seat was in a car crash. If the crash was moderate or severe, do not use the seat. Some car seat companies recommend not using seats after any crash. The seat was recalled. Even if you mailed in the registration card or filled it out online when the seat was new, find out if it was recalled. Call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-327- 4236 or search the recall page, https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls. Car seat safety tips

Families often reuse baby gear for their younger children. If you plan to reuse a car seat, the American Academyof Pediatrics (AAP) offers the following safety tips:

Sold at: Dollar General Corporation stores and manufactured by Kingston Pharma LLC.

Remedy: Throw the water away.

Contact: If your child chokes after drinking the water, call 911. Contact your health care provider for non-emergencies. Report problems to the Food and Drug Administration at www.fda.gov/safety/medwatch or call800-332-1088.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products.Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Units: About 86,000

Hazard: The mattresses do not meet federal flammability standards.

Description: The gray Lucid folding mattress-sofas were sold in twin, full, queen and king sizes and labeled:"Made for: CVB Inc. 1525 W. 2960 S. Logan, UT 84321."

Sold at: Amazon.com, Overstock.com, Wayfair.com and Walmart.com from September 2015 to June 2018 forabout $130.

Remedy: Contact the company for a free fitted cover that meets flammability standards.

 Unicorn boots

Units: About 33,600

Hazard: The unicorn horn on the boot can detach, and children can choke on it.

Description: Recalled are Cat & Jack brand unicorn "Chiara" toddler boot with item numbers 093-01-5653through 093-01-5662 in toddler sizes 5-13 and youth size 1.

Sold at: Target stores nationwide and online at Google Express from October to November 2018 for about $27.

Remedy: Return to any Target store for a refund.

Hazard: The packages are not child resistant. The products contain lidocaine, which is poisonous if consumedby children.

Description: Recalled are two products from different manufacturers. Both contain lidocaine. Numb 100 TopicalAnesthetic Cream comes in a 1.35 fluid ounce white jar with a blue cross on the label. Biotouch topicalanesthetic EZY gel comes in a 1 fluid ounce white bottle with purple label.

Sold at: Health and beauty stores nationwide and www.amazon.com. Numb 100 also was sold at Laser Jet andwww.laserjetinc.com from May 2017 through November 2018 for about $18. EZY gel was sold at Biotouchstores, tattoo salons and at www.biotouch.com, www.ebay.com, www.jet.com and www.walmart.com fromAugust 2013 through August 2018 for about $60.
