COMPLETE SOLUTIONSThe Beta equipment pictured above addresses a wire plant’s dis-posal problems. The Acid Recovery System (left) recycles 2 tons of spent acid per day. The Solids Filtration & Neutralization System (right) processes the resulting met-als concentrate stream. A Rinse Recovery System is located inside the plant. With these three sys-tems working together, the only waste requiring disposal is dry cake from the filter press.

Typically, customers experience a less than two-year Return on Investment. Customers also enjoy the environmental, public rela ons, and legal exposure benefi ts of minimizing hazardous waste.

The system requires only one hour of operator a en on per shi . The automa c opera on of the system maintains the targeted chemistry in the pickling/etching tank(s).

How it works. Vaporizes acid and water to remove heavy metals.

Spent acid is pumped through a Pre-fi lter. It enters an evapora on loop, comprised of: a.) Centrifugal Pump, b.) Evaporator Exchanger, and c.) Separator Tank.

The acid and water vaporize in the Separator Tank while the metals remain in solu on.

As the temperature increases in the evapora on loop, a Concentrate stream of metals exits through a port at the back of the system.

The recovered acid & water vapors travel to the Rec fi er where the acid is cooled to liquid form and returned to the process tank.

The water vapor, stripped of acid, con nues its journey into the Condenser where it is condensed to good quality water for reuse.

Centrifugal PumpThis corrosion-proof, centrifugal pump is the heart of the evapora on loop on the system. The high temperature and low NPSH are de-signed to operate in corrosive vacuum applica- ons.

Evaporator ExchangerBeta uses either carbon graphite or silicon car-bide as the heat exchange media for our evap-orators and condensers. Only these materials will withstand the extreme environments of an acid evaporator.

CondenserEach installa on is designed by Beta’s engineers to meet size limita ons as well as the engineer-ing specifi ca ons.

We minimize the footprint of the system to fi t into the plant’s available space.

Instrumenta onBeta provides analog and digital feedback both to our PLC and to the Operator. The instru-ments’ live data is available via graph format in the opera ng so ware.

Tefl on-lined SteelTefl on-lined steel provides an op on in mate-rials of construc on for HF and HNO3 applica- ons.

These reactors are specially manufactured for vacuum opera ons recovering these highly ag-gressive acids.

Our thermodynamic engineers custom-design each system to meet the needs of the applica- on.

Control SoftwareA computer or a control-panel-mounted HMI directs the opera on of the system. Beta’s proprietary so ware allows the user to view live opera ng condi ons and to ini ate tasks manually or automa cally.

The so ware contains set points which op mize the effi ciency of the system.

Remote MonitoringRemote access allows the operator, management, and Beta engineers to monitor the sys-tem from a computer, smart phone, or internet-connected remote device by means of a free app.
