aboutHAZELHazel Clark was born on October 3rd in Livingston, NJ. Hazel is named after her
grandmother and mother and adopted the nickname Peachy as a newborn. To this day, family, friends and fans affectionately refer to her by the aforementioned
moniker. Hazel is known as one of the strongest US middle distance front runners of her time. She is also three-time Olympian, World and Olympic finalist solidifying her as one of the most accomplished middle distance runners globally.
She is the daughter of Joe Clark who inspired the Warner Brothers Movie Lean On Me and appeared on the cover of Time magazine. She is featured in his book “Laying Down the Law” and has appeared in numerous television features with her famous father. Hazel is the sister of four time Olympian Joetta Clark Diggs. Her sister in law Jearl Miles-Clark is a five-time Olympian and American record holder. Her brother JJ is a world renowned coach, Hazel’s personal coach and served as the 2008 Olympic coach. The Clark sisters made history when they swept the 800 meter event at 2000 Olympic trials. The Clark family is known as the first family of track and field. A member of the Clark family has been on the last seven Olympic teams. Hazel attended Kent Place School and Columbia High School, In her junior year, she began her high school track career reluctantly. By her senior year she was the top high school 800 meter runner in the nation capturing the prestigious
Team Clark continues to make history on and off of the track.

Hazel received a scholarship from University of Florida where she was coached by her brother JJ. While at Florida, Hazel was undefeated in
SEC competition and won six NCAA titles. She also captured the NCAA meet record and won the 1998 eight hundred meter NCAA title by the biggest winning margin in history.
Her excellence extended to the classroom where she was a member of the academic all-american team for three consecutive years and was inducted into the University of Florida Hall of fame in 2014. After college Hazel signed a multi year deal with Nike and immediately joined the world class ranks, qualifying for her first Olympic team, advancing to the finals and winning the 2000 Olympic trials title. At the 2004 Olympics, Clark was eliminated from the first round heat after she was burned severely in a freak accident. Hazel rebounded from the disappointment with one of the best seasons of her life setting a new personal record of 1:57.9. As a professional athletes she won an impressive seven national titles and was one of the top ranked 800 meter runners in the world.

Hazel has appeared in three global campaigns for Nike. Her likeness was displayed on billboards,store fronts and
shopping bags. She also appeared in print ads featured in Glamour, Vogue and numerous publications. In addition to her work as a spokesmodel Hazel has appeared in instructional videos, commercials and advertisements for Hershey and Home Depot.
Throughout her career Hazel has hosted various events such as radio and television shows. Hazel speaks, entertains and motivates audiences world wide by speaking about her life experiences and the story of her career. Today she is a sports and education ambassador,

embassy appointed sports envoy, founder of Future Olympian Sports Clinics, founder of Clark Family Running Camps and the executive director of the Georgia Track Club.
Hazel Peachy Clark is considered a favorite of the media due to her engaging personality. This quality has given her a platform to serve as a role model and key influencer representing charities and causes she is passionate about.

caring for the communitySince her retirement from Olympic competition, Hazel has been able to explore her passion for serving others in a myriad of ways. She has visited countries including Colombia, Fiji, Bermuda and China to help expand their sports and education programs and speak on a variety of topics related to her Olympic journey.

In 2015 Hazel presented her first Family Fit Fun Run Day in the metro Atlanta community. This event touched participants in an unprecedented way and motivated families to be fit and healthy while having fun. Hazel also organized her fellow Olympians to visit schools nationwide for A Champions Don’t Bully tour. These anti bullying tours utilized Olympic athletes and educated students about a variety of topics associated with bullying.

Hazel has been a sports analyst, color commentator and red carpet correspondent on a variety of networks including NBC Sports, Fox, ESPN and College Sports Television. In 2012, Hazel was a nightly Olympic correspondent on WATE and she is prepared to launch her web show “Heart2Heart With Hazel Clark” in July 2016.
