Hawaiian Energy Systems, Inc. was formed in 2008 by a team of industry veterans Holli Tamas and Darrell Ing each of whom have years of experience in the design and building of renewable energy systems. The company owner Holli Tamas is also CEO of Nationally recognized Granite Bay Energy and is considered to b a woman minority business executive. Our team has expanded with an array of committed individuals with deep experience in energy efficiency consulting, photovoltaic design, installation and operations as we continue to expand our efforts aimed at the residential to large size commercial grid-tie PV market.

Sacred Hearts Academy of Honolulu

Sacred hearts Academy built in 1907 and considered to be one of the most prestigious private schools in Hawaii chose Hawaiian Energy Systems to install this 243 kW PV system on the school in 2012. This is the largest Enphase Micro Inverter project to date built in Hawaii.

University of San FranciscoUniversity of San Francisco

The University of San Francisco chose our sister company Granite Bay Energy to install this 600 kW photovoltaic system on the school in 2007.

This Co-Generation plant in Kapolei, HI operated by world renown Alstom Power Co. chose HESI to install this solar system in 2010. The plant supplies 25% of the islands power to Hawaiian Electric Company to power our homes, schools and businesses.

Makakilo Baptist Church & PreschoolMakakilo Baptist Church & Preschool

Makakilo Baptist Church members decided that 2011 was the right time to advance the facility into the future and to retain total energy independence. This 52 kW Centro Solar photovoltaic system installed by HES, Inc eliminates 100% of the energy costs to the facility.

Elkhorn Dairy Elkhorn Dairy

Elkhorn Dairy in No. California is one of the largest dairy farms in the US. Our sister company Granite Bay Energy design built this state-of-the-art one megawatt single axis tracking system in 2008.

Waipio Grace Bretheren Church & Preschool

Waipio Grace Bretheren Church in Mililani, HI decided to go green in 2013 and chose Hawaiian Energy Systems, Inc. to install this 35 kW Photovoltaic System on the church parsonage and church building. This system eliminates the need for HECO power and makes the church 100% renewable energy efficient.
