Annually in the beginning of August the city of Tampere becomes Finland’s theatre capital as local and international performing arts troupes take over the city’s stages and squares. Tampere Theatre Festival is the oldest and the largest theatre festival in the Nordic countries. It serves as a display window for the most interesting and up-to-the-minute productions in Finnish theatre. It also attracts leading international guests from all corners of the globe – you might even see a performance from your own country! The venues are located in the city centre and it’s easy to walk from a place to another. Between the performances you can explore more the industrial structure of Tampere, get impressed by the historical red brick buildings and two beautiful lakes. Group size: Min 1 person The performances of the Main Programme are performed in different types of venues, from small theatres to concert hall size venues. Segments: People interested in theatre, performing arts and culture. Accommodation type: There are lots of alternatives for accommodation in Tampere.
