    Haunted Musical Instrument

    NO ACCIDENT by Anne Marian Joseph

    Angela was walking down the corridor when she heard a faint sound

    of a piano playing coming from the old abandoned music room of the

    academy at the end of the corridor. Curious, she went and investigate to

    who was playing the melodious tune on the piano. Slowly, she walked to

    the old abandoned music room. As she was about to enter, someone

    grabbed her by the shoulder. Startled, Angela fell backwards. She looked

    up to nd her beloved friend, Sarah.

    !"hat are you doing in this part of the school# I was looking for you all

    over the place. Come on$ %our mom is waiting at the entrance,& said Sarahas she helped Angela to stand up.

    Sarah did not give Angela a moment to e'plain before yanking her

    away from the door of the music room down to her mother who was

    waiting at the entrance. (ownstairs, Angela looked up to where the

    abandoned music room was, wondering to who was playing the melodious

    tune on the piano.

    )hat evening, as Angela was practicing her violin playing for the

    Annual Music *estival, she kept on thinking about the tune that shestarted to imitate the tune on her violin. )he tune was sweet and faint

    that she was engulfed by the music. She felt like she was possessed by a

    spirit. )hen, her mother opened the door to her room, telling her to go

    down for dinner. Angela then placed her violin on her bed before following

    her mother to the dining room.

    )he ne't day, after school, Angela went to the abandoned music

    room this time with her violin. She then started to play the tune on her

    violin, a few minutes later, the piano started to synchronise with her

    melody creating a song. Angela looked from the mirror saw no one was at

    the piano and it seemed as if it was not being played. She turned to nd a

    high school boy playing on the piano. He looked sad as he played the

    song. +nce nished, Angela looked back at the boy to nd him staring at

    the keys. Slowly, he turned his attention to Angela.

    !Arent you afraid#& asked the boy.

    Angela shook her head as she approached the piano. She then

    asked to why he was playing the tune. He answered telling Angela that it

    all began a few years back to where he entered a Music Competition and

    was preparing for his turn when he had an accident in the music room.

    )hat time when he was practicing, the music room was not done yet but

    the teachers insist on using it. )he -ooring was not stable yet. )he boy

    then told her that he tripped on the piano seat which leads him to a

    storey drop to the ground. His body was not found.

    Angela felt sympathy towards the young boy. She then recalled of

    the Annual Music *estival at school that is going to be held in the following

    month. Angela then suggested that she will play the piece on behalf of

    him so that at least people would be able to hear his music even though

    he was already dead. )he boy agreed and Angela practiced for a month.

    A month later, the festival was on full swing with all the students

    participating in the events such as /earning the Musical /anguage

    programme, putting on a Shakespearean musical and Musical 0ui1. Angelawas in the abandoned music room practicing on the piano. As she was

    about to leave the music room, Angela tripped and fell on the piano seat.

    )he vibration caused the unstable -ooring to collapse sending Angela to a

    storey drop to the ground. She died with the music sheets in her hands.

    "hen the people went through the rubble to search for her body, they

    found her holding hands to a skeleton. As they investigate to nd who the

    mysterious skeleton was, they found that it was the same boy who died a

    few years back with the same accident.
