7 P.M.I am happy that I was able to share with all of you some of my successes and failures in fish keep-ing. You can see that many of us have had trials and tribulations in our hobby along with many successful moments that keep us coming back to fish keeping. Having the fish gene in our system makes us go crazy for the hobby.
Please don’t forget our annual picnic at Richardson Field on the July 25th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. I know you all will have a great time. Get your money in to Robin Echavaria by our July 2nd general mem-bership meeting. See you all there.
Pets and Plants store in Waimalu Shopping Center and Moanalua Pet Discount fish sections are closing down. You may be able to get fish stuff at a reasonable price; might be worth it to check it out.
We have a dilemma with the site that our Annual Fish Show is held. McKinley High School has scheduled another function the same time that we were planning on having our show. So we have to look for another site. There are some sites that we have in mind, but nothing set in stone at this time. If any of you have an idea or know of anyone that can accommodate our fish show, our board will be glad to speak to you about it. We would need a space like Hirata Hall with park-ing for our club members and guests. We would need water to fill our tanks and restroom facilities. If those basic needs can be met and agreed upon we can have our show on time in October. Please feel free to con-tact me at, cell #389-6385 or home #396-2266 any-time. It is the most important issue at this time. We must resolve our show site or we may have to adjust to another time that may not be as convenient to all.
A notice to all - due to Betty and I traveling abroad we will not have a newsletter in July.
See you all at the next meeting.

HAS PoliciesThe Board of the Honolulu Aquarium Society has decided to enact the following policies
in effect for the year 2010. This is all an effort to encourage more participation amongst mem-bers to be beneficial to the society. We appreciate the effort that already is shown, however in the interest of having a strong and active society we will be putting in place mandatory participation in the following areas.
The way you can fulfill your obligation to the club is to do one of the following:
- Write an article at least 1 paragraph long. The subject can be anything related to the hobby. It could be a practical tip or something that you do that has had success or has failed. [If assistance is needed, the board will be available for help].
- Help Auction Chairperson with the auction as either a recorder or stage help for at least 2 meetings.
- Help sell raffle tickets for 3 meetings.
- Become committee members on the annual picnic and/or Christmas party.
- Enter a tank in the show.
- Be a member of the show committee and help set up and break down the show.
- Help with the membership and Aloha committee for 3 months.
- Do a program (talk for the club).
- Join the Board for 3 months.
- Donations (monetary, goods, etc.)
There will be consequences if you do not fulfill your obligations to the club. You will lose your privileges for the auction and will not be allowed to bid on items. Obligations may be excused and made up if explained to the board. Participation will be noted in the newsletter and kept track on our participation binder.
There will be sign up sheets for the first three (3) meetings and as a member you will be able to sign up for as many committees as you want. At the end of the third month, the board will assign you to a committee.
A Father is compassion, strength, wisdom and love!
