Hartford beat Grafton on Sept. 20,43-28. Hartford's Jacob Frantl completed16 of 32 passes for 209 yards and four

touchdowns while getting interceptedtwice. Hartford started the scoring witha 12-yard interception return by A.J.Arndt at the 11:15 mark of the firstquarter. Arndt also kicked a 30-yard fieldgoal at the 6:40 mark of the fourth quar-ter. Hartford finished the scoring with a3-yard run by Adam Johnson with 2:36left to play.

Slinger improved its record to 3-2overall following a 54-0 win over WestBend West on Sept. 20. Travis DuFour ran

11 times for 172 yards and three touch-downs. Andrew Jacklin, Tyler Strupp,Deven Hayes and Aaron Thorn alsoscored on touchdown runs for Slinger.

Football: Hartford tops Grafton

Hartford Union High School (HUHS)announced that David Eagan has beenselected as the new Varsity Boys BaseballHead Coach.

Previously, Eagan was the VarsityBaseball Coach for Appleton North HighSchool from 2010-2019 and earned twoFox Valley Association Conference Titles,six WIAA Regional Titles, and two WIAASpring Baseball State Tournamentappearances. He is the 12th highest win-ning percentage among active HSBaseball Coaches. (185-71), District IVCoach of the year twice, WBCA All Star

Classic Coach twice.Eagan has coached 53players that have goneon to play at the D1,D2, D3, JUCO, and NAIAlevels. 10 of the 53were at the D1 leveland three were draftedand signed professionalcontacts with MLBteams.

The West Bend Fire Department openhouse will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct.12 at West Bend Fire DepartmentStation #1, 325 N. 8th Ave. At the con-clusion of the open house, there will bea ceremony to celebrate the 150thanniversary of the West Bend FireDepartment. That will also take placeoutside the main entrance of Station 1.

The village of Jackson FireDepartment will be holding an openhouse from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 9. The eventwill allow residents to view specializedequipment, try on a set of fire gear, viewfire and EMS equipment, visit with fire-fighters, and watch an auto extricationdemonstration.

The Jackson Fire Department is locat-ed at W204 N16722 Jackson Drive in thevillage of Jackson. The event of one ofmany being held as part of National FireSafety Week, which goes from Oct. 6-12.

About the West Bend FireDepartment

The West Bend Fire Department pro-vides service to approximately 40,000

residents in an area of about 40 squaremiles that includes all of the City of WestBend as well as portions of the Town ofWest Bend and the Town of Barton.There are 40 full time personnel as wellas four part time personnel. All of thefull time firefighters are cross-trainedfirefighter/paramedics. West Bend fire-fighter/paramedics work 24 hour shifts.There are three fire stations in the Cityof West Bend.

The West Bend Fire Departmentresponds to more than 4,000 calls forservice each year. These include struc-ture fires, vehicle fires, paramedic ambu-lance calls, paramedic intercepts(respond at the request of surroundingmunicipalities for Advanced Life Supportskills and medications), hazardous mate-rials (HazMat) incidents motor vehiclecrashes, interfacility hospital transfersand water rescue.

About the Jackson Fire DepartmentAccording to the village of Jackson

website: "The Jackson Fire Department isa paid-on-call service with a full-time

fire chief, fire marshal, and firefight-er/EMT. Two more part time firefight-er/EMT positions were also created tohelp meet the needs of the expandingpopulation of the Jackson area.Currently, the JFD (Jackson FireDepartment serves residents of the Townof Polk, Town of Jackson, Village ofJackson, and Kirchhayn, spanningapproximately 50 square miles. Thedepartment provides superior emergencyservices at the IV technician level, andregularly conducts community trainingand fire prevention programs."
